I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
While I primarily shoot weddings these days, I do still love photographing families. And, this year, I’ve been particularly thankful for the mamas and dads who have trusted me to take their family photos.
You see, while many weddings days had to be postponed this spring, engagement and family photo sessions were able to resume in April (socially distanced of course). And, as a result, family sessions were a HUGE blessing for Victoria Rayburn Photography.
Since weddings began resuming in June, things have been a bit crazy. And, although these families’ galleries have already been delivered, I’m so thankful to each and every one of them that I thought I’d do a giant blog post featuring some of my favorite summer 2020 family photos simply to thank these awesome families!
There are some little ones who just give you baby fever, and Miss Mackenzie is certainly one of them!
In July, I had the pleasure of photographing Zachary, Christine, and Mackenzie Levi at the Celery Bog for Mackenzie’s one-year birthday, and this little redhead was so stinkin’ sweet the entire time!
Happy belated birthday, Mackenzie! Zachary and Christine, thank you for trusting me to capture this special time in your family’s lives!
In July, Josh and Sara DeYoung graciously invited me to their family farm in Lake Village, Indiana.
And, I have to tell you that their kids—Otto and Evie—are a HOOT! From telling me their life stories to Evie informing me about all of her jewelry choices, talking to the DeYoung kiddos is like talking to little adults. They’re so sweet!
Josh and Sara, thank you so much for allowing me to take photos of your beautiful family and on your gorgeous property!
A gorgeous expecting mama and a a sweet 200-pound pup?! Yes please!
Kory was a groomsmen in Shane and Kate Evans’ wedding (a VRP bride and groom) a couple years ago, and when Jessica contacted me about taking their maternity photos and including their pup, I was thrilled!
Since their session, Kory and Jessica have welcomed a precious baby boy, which means Axel is now a big brother!
Kory and Jessica, congratulations! Thank you for trusting me to take your maternity photos at Wabash & Erie Canal Park!
I just adore the Demerly family!
Life with four boys is certainly busy for Joe and Natasha, but Joe and Natash are crazy impressive parents. They encourage their boys to have fun and be silly, but they also stress the importance of respect and being considerate of other people’s feelings.
During their session, these four handsome boys listened and took instruction so well in front of the camera that we could’ve been done with their entire session within just 25 minutes of their one-hour session at Fairfield Lakes Park!
Joe, Natasha, and boys, thank you for always being so wonderful to work with! I have so much admiration for your whole family!
I have a special place in my heart for families that I get to watch grow and photograph year after year, and the Purple family is certainly one of those families!
While we had originally planned to take Miss Eleanor’s four-year photos in the spring, the coronavirus delayed us a bit. As a result, Eleanor took belated four-year birthday photos with her sweet parents—Kyle and Katherine—in downtown Lafayette.
In true Purple family style, Kyle, Katherine, and Eleanor were willing to get up for a sunrise session and then celebrated their session with “birthday cake pops” and “cornbread” (Eleanor meant to say “pumpkin bread.”) from Starbucks!
Kyle, Katherine, and Eleanor, thank you for being such fun, wonderful people and for trusting me to take your family photos!
A sweet little lady? A flower crown? Perfect photo outfits? And, a grandma who comes along to get big smiles?!
Miss Emery turned one this summer, and her wonderful parents—Sadie and Brandon—asked if I would take her one-year and their family photos.
Emery is such a doll, and Sadie did an incredible job of coordinating family photo outfits. I mean, doesn’t this adorable family look amazing!
Brandon and Sadie, thank you for allowing me to photograph this special time in your lives—even though mama wasn’t thrilled about her little girl turning one!
The Carriere family holds a very special place in my heart. You see, Jen and I met while we were both working at Treefrog Marketing. We became great friends, sharing a bond over waffle Wednesdays and Gilmore Girls.
When I left Treefrog to pursue photography full time, I knew that I wanted Jen specifically to design my new website. Over the past couples years, she’s put up with me through website design and countless other graphic design projects. She’s amazing at what she does and such a kind person and great friend!
So, as you can imagine, I was very excited to serve Jen for a change with family photos!
And, I have to say that every time I see the Carriere family, I’m always so impressed with how smart, articulate, and kind these kiddos are.
Jen and Caleb are amazing people and parents who are raising amazing kids, and I feel so blessed to know this sweet fam.
Jen, thank you for all you do, and thank you for trusting me to take your family photos at the Celery Bog!
It’s hard to believe that I got to meet the Stoffel family when Molly was just two. And, now, three years of photos and birthday balloons later, Lincoln is also two!
This year, I met up with Megan, Eric, and their kiddos for their family photos at Wea Creek Orchard.
The kids played with their balloons, checked out the sunflowers, explored the apple orchard, and we took photos in between.
Eric and Megan, thank you for sticking with me and trusting me to take your family photos year after year. I adore your family and am so thankful for all four of you!
To all of the families featured above, thank you.
Thank you for trusting me to take your family photos. Thank you for going with the flow and being respectful of others’ safety as coronavirus mandates and restrictions changed. And, thank you for supporting my small business.
Zach and I are so grateful to each and every one of you! I hope you love your 2020 family photos!
