I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Last February, I received an email from Nancy, Abigail’s mom, explaining that she would love to book Purdue University senior photos for her daughter and her daughter’s closest friends. How sweet is that?!
Nancy and I decided that a two-hour session would be best and would allow Abigail to have photos by herself as well as with her Purdue besties. Nancy hoped this would be the perfect way to commemorate Abigail’s time at Purdue, which she loved.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus caused Abigail’s senior plans to end differently than expected. While Abigail went home to Wisconsin to quarantine with her family, she had a few things to wrap up in West Lafayette and still wanted to have photos taken.
So, Abigail made the trip back to Purdue, and although her friends couldn’t be included, it was such an honor to take this sweet, hardworking girl’s Purdue University senior photos!
Side note: I love that Abigail goes by “Abigail.” We bonded over how people tend to shorten our names to nicknames (Abby and Vicky) that we never introduce ourselves as. That’s a tangent for another day!
While we absolutely grabbed the traditional Purdue graduation photos (with the Bell Tower, Engineering Fountain, and Arch), Abigail wanted to use her cap and gown session to take photos at the locations that have meant the most to her over the last four years.
For example, Abigail cheered throughout her time and Purdue and was even on that National-winning team! So, naturally, we had to grab some photos by Mackey Arena and Ross-Ade Stadium. (Ross-Ade is under massive construction, so we took photos against the brick wall.)
During Abigail’s time at Purdue, she was a member of Delta Gamma and wanted to have photos taken in front of her sorority house, where she made so many of her closest college friends.
Then, we finished Abigail’s session in front of Beering Hall. Abigail studied public relations and strategic communication. Between class and being part of Purdue’s student-run PR firm, Abigail spent most of her time in Beering and, of course, wanted to have photos taken in front of the building where she learned so much.
If you can’t tell, the last four years have been very busy for Abigail. She’s clearly a determined woman, and Purdue has been blessed to have her!
Over the next few weeks, Abigail will be moving to Indianapolis to begin her marketing career at Haven Technologies through the Orr Fellowship. With this honor, Abigail will be in Indiana for at least the next two years.
If she continues to work as hard as she has during her time at Purdue, I think it’s safe to say that she’s going to do an incredible job!
Miss Abigail (and Mama Nancy), thank you so much for trusting me to take your Purdue University senior photos! I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved getting to know.
Best of luck in all of your next steps! You’re going to do great! I hope you love these photos!
