I think it’s safe to say that everyone gets a little nervous when they’re in front of the camera. At the beginning of engagement photos, I tell all couples that the first 20 minutes or so of their 90-minute session will feel a little awkward as they get warmed up.
However, this did NOT seem to be the case for Haley and Tandrek! These two are so perfectly comfortable around one another that they had no problem letting their guards down. They were simply themselves, and as a result, they killed their engagement photos!

Tandrek’s sister-in-law had a feeling that Haley & Tandrek were meant to be.
I think it’s safe to say that Tandrek and Haley owe Tandrek’s sister-in-law big time! After all, she’s the one who set them up.
Tandrek’s sister-in-law essentially set the two up on a blind date, and although Haley says she was nervous and a little quiet on their first date, Haley and Tandrek hit it off and have been together ever since!
Since their first date, their days have been filled with lots of walks, mini golf, and simply enjoying one another’s company.
Basically, way to go, sis!
Since both Haley & Tandrek describe themselves as “introverts,” Tandrek planned a private proposal that included just the two of them.
When it comes to proposals, I think social media has made us all believe that the question needs to be popped with friends and family waiting around the corner.
Everyone is different, but if you ask me, there’s something oh-so sweet about private, intimate proposals like Haley and Tandrek’s.
One evening—when the coronavirus was starting to sweep the world—Tandrek asked Haley to come over to his house for dinner. This was very normal for Haley and Tandrek, so she didn’t think much of it.
When Haley opened the door, she found Tandrek on one knee surrounded by candles and roses in the shape of a heart with a letterboard that read, “Will you marry me? – Tandy.”
Haley said, yes!
Haley and Tandrek’s engagement story is perfectly them, and they will become husband and wife in fall 2020!

Since Haley and Tandrek spend so much of the time they share together outdoors, they wanted to take their engagement photos at an epic, nature-filled location. They decided on Fairfield Lakes Park, which happens to be one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in Lafayette, Indiana!
Like I said before, these two are so at ease and happy to be around one another that they basically relaxed in front of the camera instantly.

Haley and Tandrek will become Mr. and Mrs. Rardin on October 3, 2020 at Innovation Church in Lafayette, Indiana.
Their big day will take place outside and feature bohemian decor, pastel colors, and a small bridal party so they can keep the day intimate—just how they want it! I have no doubt that these two are going to have a gorgeous, outdoor, Christ-centered celebration!
