I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Between the gorgeous fall leaves, a 75-degree day in November (What?!), and getting to hang out with a super sweet couple, I loved having Steph and Drew in front of the camera for their Tippecanoe Battlefield Park engagement photos. And, I’m so excited to share highlights from their session on the blog!
In 2013, Drew and Steph worked for the same company for just a month before Drew left for a new job.
During that time, they definitely noticed one another in passing but never really chatted.
When Drew left the company, Steph didn’t think she’d ever see Drew again; however, when Drew came to visit an old work buddy in the office, he was sure to give Steph his number.
According to Drew, he did come to see his friend, but he regretted not getting to know Steph better during the few weeks they overlapped. So, whether it was a conscious or unconscious decision, I think it’s safe to say that Drew’s visit to see his friend had ulterior motives!
Since then, this sweet couple has spent their evenings cooking, hiking, watching movies, and taking it easy together. (They enjoyed doing these things together even before COVID.) And, now, they’re getting married!
Since Drew and Steph spend much of their time together outdoors, Drew knew that he wanted to ask Steph to be his wife while they were on a hike.
In August 2020, Steph assumed that they were just taking a walk and looking at nature like they so often do. But, as she walked along, Drew said, “Hey, I think I found a shell you might like.”
Steph turned to see, and when she did, Andrew opened the shell to expose a ring!
Steph and Drew love to walk the Wabash Heritage Trail, which runs behind the Tippecanoe Battlefield. So, they decided that engagement photos at Tippecanoe Battlefield Park would be the perfect location for their photos.
After having to reschedule due to crumby weather, the trees graciously held on to their leaves, and Steph and Drew ended up taking their engagement photos on a gorgeous, 75-degree day in mid November.
Like I said, the weather was perfect, and I loved getting to hang out with these two! While Steph will tell you that she’s quiet, she’s as sweet as can be and so fun to get to know. And, Drew is quite the laidback gentleman.
I can’t wait to hang out with Drew and Steph again on their wedding day!
On July 17, 2021, Drew and Steph will become husband and wife at Exploration Acres surrounded by their closest friends and family. (Even before COVID, they knew they wanted to keep their wedding intimate.)
Steph plans to wear her mom’s wedding dress—which I have no doubt will bring tears for many!
Steph and Drew, thank you so much for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. You two are so kind and wonderful, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you next year!
In the meantime, I hope you love your Tippecanoe Battlefield Park engagement photos!
