I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
I’ve been blessed to work with really amazing couples over the years, but y’all, few have made me smile or laugh as much as Isaac and Adrienne!
Andrea Peterson, a 2018 VRP bride, let me know that she referred her friend Adrienne to me. “Isaac and Adrienne are great,” Andrea said. “You’ll love them!”
And, Andrea was right! I’m convinced that these two are the life of the party no matter where they go. Individually, they’re both funny, but together, they’re truly hysterical! After meeting them for coffee, I knew we would be a great fit, but after their engagement photos at Holliday Park in Indianapolis, I CANNOT WAIT to photograph their June 2019 wedding at The Willows!
While I’m more than happy to make engagement session location suggestions for couples, it’s a very special thing when couples already have a place in mind, especially when the location is sentimental for them. When we met for coffee, Isaac and Adrienne already knew that they wanted to take their engagement photos at Holliday Park in Indianapolis.
Adrienne loved Holliday Park before, but after Isaac popped the question on one of of the park’s trails, I think it’s safe to say that Holliday Park will forever be Adrienne’s favorite place!
Now, we have to discuss this couple’s engagement story, because Isaac’s proposal puts most grooms to shame! Isaac knew that he wanted to pop the question at Holliday Park, but because this couple both lives and works together (Yes! They have the same job at the same company and met at work and are still colleagues.), it was hard for him to make a plan and pick up a ring without making Adrienne suspicious.
So, what did Isaac do? He faked sick! Yep. This clever groom scheduled a day off and then told Adrienne he wasn’t going to the office because he wasn’t feeling well.
According to Adrienne, she thought poor Isaac was being over dramatic and teased him about not going to work. But, she went to the office without him and didn’t suspect a thing.
As soon as Adrienne pulled out of their apartment’s parking lot, Isaac dashed out the door because he had a lot to do! He picked up Adrienne’s ring, traveled to Batesville to tell his parents and grandpa his plan, drove to Indianapolis to tell Adrienne’s dad, went to tell Adrienne’s mom and grandma, and then went to Holliday Park. Being short on time, Isaac ran the trails to look for the perfect spot to pop the question the next day. He then spoke to Allie, one of Adrienne’s closest friends who happens to be a photographer, to make a plan for the proposal to be captured.
In a hurry to get back to the apartment and look “sick,” Adrienne called Isaac to see how he was feeling and to find out if he was well enough to run to the store to get a few things. Isaac, who was sweaty from running and wouldn’t be able to explain that to Adrienne, dashed to the store and then home to shower.
When Adrienne got home, Isaac was just getting out of the shower. He didn’t look sick, and when Adrienne saw him, she half-jokingly said, “Wow. Wish I could’ve stayed home and relaxed all day!”
Isaac just smiled and was thankful he’d made it home before raising suspicions.
The next day was Isaac’s birthday, and Adrienne had promised they could spend the day doing whatever he wanted to do. He told her that he wanted to go to Holliday Park to enjoy the food trucks. Adrienne thought this sounded great, but when they got to the park, Isaac told Adrienne that he wanted to hike one of the trails.
When telling me this story, Adrienne said, “I was not dressed for a hike in the woods! But, because it was his birthday I happily followed along up a MOUNTAIN.”
Isaac and Adrienne hiked and eventually Isaac got down on one knee with Allie hiding to capture the whole thing on camera.
Can we all agree that Isaac is an incredible man?! And, that Adrienne is an amazing woman, because it takes a very special girl to a receive a proposal this well thought out!
When I met Adrienne, she told me that when Andrea got her engagement and wedding photos back, Adrienne looked through them multiple times with Andrea and already knew that she and I would be a good fit. I’m SO happy she felt this way because I just adore Adrienne and Isaac so much!
I mean, they introduced me to chocolate-covered cookie dough balls at Lulu’s Coffee & Bakeshop, rocked their engagement photos at Holliday Park in Indianapolis, and are super communicative. I’ll be honest, my heart skips a beat when I see I have a text from Adrienne because she’s the sweetest!
It’s an honor to photograph every couple’s wedding, but because Isaac and Adrienne are such dolls and so much fun to be around, I can’t wait for their big day!
Isaac and Adrienne, it’s clear to me that God made each of you for the other. You’re both so fun and sweet. Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. I hope you enjoy every second of being engaged, but I also hope that your engagement flies by because I can’t wait for your wedding day!
