I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
For many couples, combining their lives can be difficult. But, I think it’s safe to say that that hasn’t been the case for Kody Darnell and Morgan Rider.
When they met, they were in very different seasons of life. Kody was in the Army, and Morgan was finishing her last year of college. However, Kody and Morgan know who they are and what matters most to them. With aligned values and priorities, this darling VRP bride and groom has been building a life they love since meeting at the gym just a few years ago.
Kody and Morgan will become husband and wife on August 12, 2023, and while I cannot wait for their big day, for now, I’m very excited to share their sunrise engagement photos in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
A few years ago, Morgan was having a rough day. In an effort to cheer her up, Morgan’s mom encouraged her daughter to do what she loves most—go to the gym.
And, let’s just say mama always knows best, because that day, Morgan had a great workout AND she met a cute guy she hadn’t seen at the gym before.
Throughout their workouts, Kody and Morgan kept making eye contact, and before Kody left, he asked for Morgan’s number.
Kody and Morgan got to talking, actually had their first date at the gym, and have been building a life—that now includes three dogs, three parrots, fish, and a home in the country—ever since.
Now, every woman’s idea of the perfect proposal is a little different, but Burger King and all, Morgan couldn’t imagine a more perfect way for Kody to ask her to be his wife.
You see, after a long day (These two work incredibly hard both in their careers and at the gym.), Morgan and Kody’s only evening plan was to grab Burger King on their way home and hang out on the couch with their dogs.
As they enjoyed their burgers and fries, Kody called one of the pups over and asked Morgan, “What’s on her collar?”
That’s when Morgan saw an engagement ring, and when she looked at Kody, he said, “Wanna get married?”
These two simply love doing life together and scheduling quality time in the midst of busy schedules. As a result, Kody couldn’t have proposed in a way that was more true to who they are as a couple and the life they share.
Wanting to include as much nature as possible and to arrange photos around Kody’s work schedule, Kody and Morgan decided to take sunrise engagement photos in Lafayette, Indiana.
This darling VRP bride and groom met me at Tapawingo Park just after 6:30 am. While this park is on the edge of downtown Lafayette, we were able to use the trees and water to give Kody and Morgan’s photos a true nature feel.
From there, we traveled to Fairfield Lakes Park—which opens at 7:30 am—to utilize the beautiful grasses and water. This is one of my favorite places to take engagement photos in Lafayette, Indiana, so I was so glad that Kody and Morgan chose this location!
To be honest, being in front of the camera is not always the most comfortable thing for many people. However, despite the early morning and perhaps being a bit nervous for their engagement photos, Kody and Morgan crushed their session because they simply enjoyed spending the morning together.
Kody and Morgan, I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am that you’re trusting me to be your wedding photographer. While I cannot wait for your big day at The Willow Creek Barn, I am so excited to share just a handful of my favorite photos from your sunrise engagement photos in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
