Gorgeous blooms, the most darling couple, a stunning orchard, and a groom in uniform?
It doesn’t get any better than this, and I’m so excited to share Jesse and Miryam’s spring engagement photos at Wea Creek Orchard in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
Hilariously enough, Jesse and Miryam are from the same town. They grew up in the same area, went to the same high school, and even shared mutual friends. But, somehow, they didn’t meet until after Jesse came home from the Marine Corps.
When Jesse returned from the military, he sent Miryam a Facebook message asking her out. Miryam quickly realized all the ways that she and Jesse were connected and turned down his first offer. Luckily, whether it was due to Jesse’s persistence or Miryam’s change of heart, Miryam changed her mind, and the two have been inseparable since their first date!
Jesse and Miryam agree that it’s crazy that they didn’t meet sooner—especially when they think about all the ways they’re connected. However, they also agree that fate brought them together at the perfect time. Because, according to the two of them, they aren’t sure if they would’ve gotten together if they’d met one another earlier in life!
But, God’s timing is always perfect, and it only takes two minutes of hanging out with these two to realize that they’re meant to be.
Because Jesse is a police officer and Miryam works two jobs, these two spend a lot of time working. As a result, they try to schedule time away to unwind and enjoy one another’s company.
Last November, Jesse and Miryam vacationed in Arizona. And, one afternoon, they decided to hike up Bell Rock.
This was supposed to be a 30-minute hike, but because Jesse and Miryam decided to listen to “Jesse’s gut” (Miryam’s words) instead of following the signs, this darling couple hiked for 90 minutes. They accidentally walked around the Bell Rock—instead of up it—and ended up back where they started.
Miryam insisted that they start following the signs, and Jesse and Miryam eventually made it to the top.
And, if the view wasn’t enough to make the long hike worth it, what happened next definitely made the excursion worthwhile. Because, Jesse got down on one knee and popped the question.
According to Miryam, “He couldn’t have picked a better spot. It was absolutely perfect.”
In my opinion, spring is the best time of year for photos in Indiana. And, between this incredibly sweet couple and Wea Creek Orchard’s incredible property, Miryam and Jesse’s engagement session was a dream!
During their engagement session, it instantly became clear to me that Jesse and Miryam are best friends. They light up when they interact with one another, and their personalities mesh together perfectly. They’re clearly meant to do life together.
Engagement sessions are always special. But, I think engagement sessions are extra special when couples make their photos their own, meaning they incorporate an item or a location that’s special to them.
Miryam and Jesse made their session their own by including Jesse’s police uniform. Jesse served as a Marine for four years, and when he came home, he decided to become a police officer.
Serving Newton County is very important to Jesse, and Jesse’s career plays a huge role in his and Miryam’s life.
Jesse, thank you for serving both your country and your county. And, Miryam, thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made that allow Jesse to serve. I’m so glad you decided to make this area of your life part of your engagement session!
Like I mentioned before, Jesse and Miryam share several mutual friends. And, one of these mutual friends is allowing them to have their wedding in the friend’s backyard!
Now, this won’t be your typical backyard wedding. The property is absolutely gorgeous, and Jesse and Miryam’s number one goal is to have a good time.
To accomplish this, the couple has decided to keep their ceremony short and sweet. In fact, they want to keep their ceremony so short that they’re going to do a standing ceremony! This simply means that guests will stand instead of sit so they can keep the festivities going!
Another way Jesse and Miryam plan to ensure that everyone has a good time is to serve tacos at their wedding! Jesse and Miryam love Mexican food and are very excited to enjoy a taco feast on their big day.
Their wedding is clearly going to be amazing!
I have no doubt that Jesse and Miryam’s big day is going to be fun and thoughtful, just like they are.
Jesse and Miryam, I was excited for your big day before, but after your engagement photos, I simply cannot wait for your wedding!
I hope you love these previews! And, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer!
