I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
“When you met as freshmen, did you ever imagine you’d come back to campus eight year later with your baby girl for your anniversary session?” I asked Bruce and Becky Anderson.
“Not even 2%. I never would’ve guessed!” Becky said.
Bruce and Becky celebrated their one-year anniversary in March (You can check out their Chicago wedding here!), but between having a baby in January and then a global pandemic, their anniversary session was a little delayed.
However, this summer, I got to meet up with Bruce, Becky, and Lydia for belated anniversary photos at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, and I’m so excited to share their anniversary/family photos at their alma mater on the blog!
This year, I’m challenging VRP brides and grooms to get real about marriage and share their thoughts on a few different marriage-related topics in hopes of showing other newlyweds that marriage takes work and intentionality to truly thrive.
And, Bruce and Becky were willing to share their thoughts!
The main highlight of this past year has been little Miss Lydia. It has been so nice to be able to have the support from Bruce during my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. Seeing him grow from being a fiancé to a husband to a dad has been so amazing.
The best part about being married is waking up every day knowing you’re able to spend the rest of your life with your best friend. It’s so nice to spend forever with someone who makes you laugh when things are hard.
The hardest part of marriage is still remembering that we are two different people with differing interests and wants. Yes, we are sharing this one life together, but we still need our time away from each other to regroup and remember who we are as individuals.
One piece of advice I would give to newlyweds is to take life at your own pace. From wedding planning to having the wedding to traveling for the honeymoon, life goes so fast when you have fun! Live in and enjoy the moments, because they will be lived so fast.
Bruce and Becky, when we met as freshman in college, I also never imagined that I’d be your wedding photographer or have the opportunity to photograph your daughter! But, I’m so thankful to know you both, and it’s been such an honor to be trusted to capture these milestones in your lives.
Happy belated anniversary! May you celebrate many, many more and always love doing life together!
