Whether you live in Lafayette or you’ve come across this darling boutique online, you might be familiar with The Farmer’s Wife & Co. However, you’re going to need to get used to a new name, because The Farmer’s Wife & Co. is now Liv Free Boutique!
To celebrate the name change, Owner Alivia Roberts scheduled boutique branding photos in Lafayette, Indiana with me. And, today, I’m so excited to share photos from her shoot and the inspiration behind her boutique’s new name on the blog!
When Liv opened The Farmer’s Wife & Co., she had a business partner who was actually a farmer’s wife. However, because the partner is no longer part of the business and because Liv isn’t a farmer’s wife herself, she’s been thinking about a new name for a while.
Then, when a little moment inspired Alivia to embrace and be who she truly is and encourage others to do the same, the new name for the boutique became very clear.
According to Liv, “Throughout my life I’ve gone through seasons of feeling unworthy, misunderstood, [and] less than others. These seasons lead me to feel paralyzed, suffocated, terrified . . . terrified of being unapologetically myself, terrified of showing others my true heart, terrified of simply living my life the way I was created and intended to.
“We all have our insecurities. Parts of us we want to hide, characteristics we wish were different, things that make us feel less than.
“One day, I apologized to my boss for being particular about a specific project we were working on, and he said, ‘Don’t apologize for that. That’s what makes you, you and what makes you a great employee. And, I respect that.’
“And, that’s when the switch started to happen for me. Living free.
“Liv Free Boutique is your reminder to live free every day. Live free of all the things that make you feel less than and surround yourself with people who get you. Love you. Support you. And respect you. Even the type-A, particular YOU!”
Challenging and motivating others—especially women—to be true to who they are has become a passion for Liv, and through the items in her shop that, the interactions she has with customers and the Lafayette community, and the presence she has on social media, Liv intends to personally and professionally carry out this mission.
Side note: In addition to owning and operating Liv Free Boutique, Liv works full-time in marketing. She’s incredible!
Wanting to have professional photos to announce the boutique’s new name, Liv and I connected. (We’d been following one another on social media for a while, and it was so much fun to finally get to meet and work together in real life!)
At first, Liv was thinking she just wanted a short and sweet photo session. Then, after talking about it a bit, she decided that she wanted to do a full branding shoot! (A branding shoot is a great way to build up a lot of content for your business at once.)
As a boutique owner, Liv takes photos of new products on the regular. (She’s adding cute new items all the time!) But, part of running a successful personal brand includes sharing photos of yourself, especially photos of you doing your thing. So, this is exactly what we did for Liv’s branding session!
We started Liv’s boutique branding photos in Lafayette, Indiana at Réveille Coffee Bar. Liv ordered a beautiful latte and brought her laptop and phone to give her customers and followers a taste of what running a small biz is like.
Then, we went to one of my favorite photo spots in downtown Lafayette—a white brick wall on Fourth Street. This made a great backdrop for Liv to show off the boutique’s new name and logo!
From there, we headed to the boutique, so we could grab photos of Liv doing her thing. She sorted and folded clothes, packaged items, and changed a few times to add variety to her photos.
When Liv has her full gallery, she’ll have more than 100 photos to share on social, her website, and anywhere else she needs!
If looking through these photos or reading Liv’s mission is making you want to shop at Liv Free Boutique, here’s everything you need to know!
