My favorite part of being a family photographer is watching little ones grow, especially during their first year of life. I had the privilege of taking Mr. Camden Demerly’s newborn, three-month, and six-month photos, and now I can’t believe he’s a whole year old! Considering his one-year session included donuts and the world’s cutest Easter outfit, I think it’s safe to say that I will always remember this session.

Have you ever seen a donut smash?!

Cake smash sessions are becoming more and more popular for one-year photos, but because Camden’s mama is so wonderful, Natasha decided that Camden’s favorite food would be more fitting than cake. Thus, we had a donut smash with Mary Lou Donuts!

Camden wasn’t so sure about Second Level Studios at first, so we let him get messy first thing. While he was more than happy to double fist donuts, he kept looking at Natasha and me with a look that said, “Seriously? You aren’t going to stop me?”

Capturing memories of your family is always special, but adding heirlooms, favorite toys, or—in this case—a favorite food to a session makes photos more personal and memorable. When Camden and his family look at these photos years from now, I’m sure his parents will reminisce about how much their little guy loved donuts.  

Camden was quite dapper.

After Camden had his fill, we cleaned him up, and Natasha put him in this super cute outfit. These pastel colors on these sweet cheeks make my heart swoon. He’s so handsome!

Camden, happy first birthday! I’ve loved watching you grow this year, and I hope your parents continue to trust me with your photos. I have no doubt that you’re going to be just as much fun as your big brothers!
