When Bailey reached out and explained that she and Alec wanted to have a laid-back, brunch wedding where they could be fully present, I was so excited to meet with her. And, now, after having the pleasure of having Alec and Bailey in front of the camera for their engagement photos at Holcomb Gardens, I truly cannot wait for their fall 2023 wedding.
However, for now, I’m so excited to share just a handful of my favorite photos from Alec and Bailey’s engagement session on the blog!
Since the beginning, Alec & Bailey have been in it for the long haul.
Alec and Bailey met on Tinder while Bailey was a student at Marian University and shortly after Alec had graduated and moved to Fishers, Indiana for work.
For their very first date, they went to Handle’s for ice cream, and they’ve literally been together ever since!
According to Bailey, she and Alec never “officially” became boyfriend and girlfriend. Instead, they just fit so naturally together that they started making plans for the future. As Bailey shared with me, “ I don’t know the best way to describe it, but [Alec] just felt like home to me. I knew when I couldn’t stop talking about him or wanting to hang out with him that I never wanted to be without him. He would always talk about doing things in the future, like me moving in with him after college and planning vacations . . . Alec always just acted like we were in it for the long haul, which I feel like is rare nowadays.”
Since their first date, Alec and Bailey have been enjoying traveling together, visiting new and favorite restaurants whenever possible, trying new bourbons and whiskeys, hosting game nights, being morning people (Bailey told me that she and Alec actually love grocery shopping together at 7 am!), and just doing life together. And, in 2022, these two built a home—which will be where they host their wedding brunch for their closest friends and family!
Alec’s ingenious proposal plan resulted in Bailey being truly surprised & incredible photos.
Alec and Bailey are both planners, and as a result, Alec knew it would be difficult to truly surprise Bailey. However, when Bailey booked a photo session for them during their trip to Hawaii, Alec saw his perfect opportunity and took it.
You see, as Bailey and Alec planned their vacation, Bailey thought, “We’ve never had professional photos taken before, and Hawaii seems like the perfect place to have some taken,” so she booked a mini session.
The two met their photographer on a beach and smiled for the camera. Then, Alec told the photographer, “I have an idea for a pose,” and he got down on one knee.
Bailey was completely shocked, and the entire special moment was captured oceanside. How perfect is that?! I mean, I’ve seen some of the photos, and I can assure you that they are beautiful!
Alec, you forever deserve major props for such a perfect proposal!

Wanting to utilize a photo location with lots of nature, Alec and Bailey decided to take their engagement photos at Holcomb Gardens in Indianapolis. And, I’m so glad they did, because we could not have gotten a more beautiful night for photos!
Alec and Bailey started their engagement session in their more casual outfits, and we used the outskirts of the gardens to include lots of trees and water in their photos. It was obvious that they’d had photos taken together before, because it didn’t take them long to warm up to the camera.
Then, Alec and Bailey changed into their more formal outfits, and finished their session in the garden. Guys, just wait until you see Bailey’s dress! It’s classic and perfect, and the bows just made me love it even more! (Alec, for the record, your outfit was great, too!)
Alec and Bailey kindly let me take them all over Holcomb Gardens, told me about their travel plans for their upcoming trip to Italy, and were just so much fun to hang out with. Bailey and Alec have vast interests and hobbies, and during their engagement photos, the fact that they love pursuing these things together was so evident.

Bailey and Alec, I was excited for your big day before, but now, after your engagement session, I cannot wait to get you in front of the camera again or celebrate you during your St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and at-home, brunch wedding this fall!
