I never would’ve thought to take engagement photos at a quarry, but I’m certainly glad Frank and Lydia did! I mean, this was an epic location for an even more epic couple, and I’m so excited to share Frank and Lydia’s engagement photos in Logansport, Indiana on the blog!
Before you see their photos, I can’t help sharing how Frank and Lydia met.
You see, Frank and Lydia’s mom, Cathy, work together. Cathy is the CCO for Carroll White REMC, and Frank is a lineman. So, their paths cross pretty regularly.
A few years ago, Lydia was visiting home from college (She went to Saint Joseph’s College, which is also where I went. Go, Pumas!) when her mom told her all about Frank. She told Lydia how great Frank was and asked if Lydia had any friends Frank might be interested in dating. Lydia kind of shrugged off the question and didn’t think anymore about it.
A few months later, Lydia agreed to help her mom at Carroll White REMC’s annual meeting, and she and Frank met. She remembered her mom mentioning Frank and pretty quickly realized that he was every bit as great as her mom said he was.
This was about four years ago, and Frank and Lydia have been together ever since!
Funnily enough, when talking about Frank, Cathy never pushed for Lydia to date Frank. I’m guessing this wonderful mama knew better than to directly fix her daughter up, but I’m sure Frank and Lydia will forever be grateful to Cathy for bringing them together. Way to go, Mama Raderstorf!
Lydia is currently finishing up physical therapy school in Illinois, but when she and Frank are together, they love being outside and spending time with family.
As a result, Lydia didn’t think anything of it when she and Frank went to visit his family in Wisconsin and he asked her if she wanted to go for a sunset cruise on a sailboat on Lake Michigan.
As they sailed along and looked at the gorgeous beach houses, Frank asked Lydia to spend the rest of her life with him.
Lydia, of course, said yes, and Frank and Lydia are now planning a September 2020 wedding!
As a wedding photographer, I’m more than happy to make location suggestions for engagement photos. But, I think it’s particularly special when couples want to take their engagement photos at a location that’s special to them.
And, I’m so glad that Frank and Lydia had an epic location in mind!
One of Frank’s closest friends owns a quarry just outside of Logansport, Indiana. Over the years, Frank and his buddies have spent a lot of time swimming and just hanging out at the quarry. And, when Frank and Lydia started dating, she started hanging out at the quarry too.
Considering the countless hours Frank and Lydia have spent at this beautiful location and all of the memories they and their friends have made there over the years, the quarry made the perfect spot for their engagement photos! I mean, just keep scrolling. You’ll see exactly what I mean!
Frank and Lydia are both sweet and adventurous, and I have no doubt that their September 2020 wedding in Wolcott, Indiana is going to be a grand time and one to remember for sure!
This darling couple will become husband and wife with an outdoor ceremony and then dance the night away inside The Wagner Angus Barn, an adorable, white barn just outside of Wolcott.
Frank and Lydia, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the two of you or how thankful I am that you’re trusting me to be your wedding photographer!
Your wedding day is going to be amazing, but more importantly, with the way the two of you care for one another, your marriage is going to be an example to so many.
I hope you love these previews from your engagement photos in Logansport, Indiana! I can’t wait for you to see your full gallery!
