As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
If I had a trophy for most rescheduled engagement session, it would have to go to Stephen and Jessica. Between bad weather and the flu, I’m not sure how many times we had to push their session back, but we finally took their engagement photos in West Lafayette, Indiana, and—if you ask me—it was 100% worth the wait!
Zach and I are blessed to know Stephen and Jessica through City of God Church, which is also how this lovely couple met. Stephen is an engineer, and Purdue brought him to West Lafayette for his bachelor’s degree. He has since made Lafayette, Indiana his home.
Jessica came to Lafayette about a year and a half ago to attend Purdue for grad school, where she is studying birds. I know there is a technical name for this study, but it’s escaping me at the moment. Don’t judge! Regardless, Jessica is a super intelligent woman. She’s also artistic. Check out The Artsy Birder!
Stephen and Jessica met in a City Group (City of God’s small groups), dated for 11 months before Stephen popped the question, and have enjoyed an 8-month engagement. In May, they will get married surrounded by their friends and family, and I can’t explain how excited I am to photograph their wedding day!
For now, I’m thrilled to share their engagement photos!
It was a frigid morning, but Stephen and Jessica agreed to a sunrise session. We started at 7:30 am, and neither complained about the time or freezing temps. This is proof that this couple is the sweetest!
We started their session at the Celery Bog in West Lafayette, Indiana. I love this location because of the tall, gorgeous grasses. And, Stephen and Jessica snuggling in this field only made the location more perfect. Plus, Jessica can hear any kind of bird and tell you exactly what it is. I learned so much!
After the Celery Bog, we headed to Purdue’s campus and did a quick outfit change. Since Purdue is what brought Stephen and Jessica to Greater Lafayette, we felt that taking some of their engagement photos here only made sense!
There are couples you meet and think, “Wow. God clearly designed you two to be together.” That’s exactly the case when you meet Stephen and Jessica. Stephen is pretty outgoing, while Jessica is a little more reserved but incredibly sweet. They will bring each other balance every single day that they are married.
While their personalities complement one another perfectly, that’s not why their relationship works or why their marriage will last. Their marriage will endure challenges and thrive because Stephen and Jessica let God lead their lives individually. Now, they’ll let God lead their marriage.
Stephen and Jessica, my prayer for you is that God brings you countless blessings during your marriage and that with every trial you grow closer together and closer to Christ.
Stephen and Jessica are my first engagement session AND wedding of 2018! In just a few weeks, they will say their vows in front of their closest friends and family and become one. Then, according to Stephen, he’s going to hit the dance floor hard!
Stephen and Jessica, thank you for allowing me to be your photographer. Zach and I are blessed to know you and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
