Those cheeks. Those blue eyes. That giggle. Mr. Joshua couldn’t be any sweeter! And, either could his parents.

I was thrilled to take David and Colleen Jackson’s family photos, as well as one-year photos of Joshua—their oh-so-handsome baby boy!

We took the Jacksons’ family photos at Purdue University.

During the cold months, Purdue is one of my favorite places to shoot in the Lafayette, Indiana area. While Indiana has a tendency to look a little sad when it’s cold and there isn’t snow on the ground, campus is still beautiful.

This is why I suggested that we take the Jacksons’ family photos at Purdue. Plus, Colleen works for the university’s psychology department, so this made the location super convenient!

 

Joshua was a trooper!

I schedule all sessions during golden hour—the hour after the sun comes up or the hour before it sets. This is when the light is best and makes for creamy, dreamy photos.

Golden hour was a little past Joshua’s bedtime, but that didn’t matter. He was such a trooper! And, he wanted to walk everywhere all by himself. His independence makes him even more adorable!

Joshua also made a game of throwing his hat off. It allowed us to get some genuine smiles and giggles on camera!

 

This was an incredibly easy family to photograph.

David, Colleen, and Joshua are the sweetest family. Both mom and dad knew exactly what to do to make Joshua smile. This meant all I had to do was focus on photographing these beautiful people!

Within 20 minutes of the session, we honestly could’ve been done. There were tons of keepers so quickly!
