Have you ever met a couple and known within seconds that they’re simply amazing human beings? Well, that’s EXACTLY how I felt when I met Jake and Jennifer for their maternity photos at Purdue University.
It was a frigid, 24-degree evening in February, but these two (although very cold) were nothing but kind to me and nothing but thoughtful and helpful to one another. Jake and Jennifer are clearly going to be amazing parents, and I’m so excited to share their maternity photos on the blog!
Jake & Jennifer met at Purdue while pursuing master’s degrees in aerospace engineering.
Not only are Jake and Jennifer crazy kind, but they’re also incredibly intelligent! I mean, they met while pursuing their master’s degrees in aerospace engineering.
Jake did his undergrad at Purdue and stayed in lovely West Lafayette, Indiana to pursue his master’s degree. And, Jennifer is actually from France (She has a beautiful accent!) and came to Purdue to pursue her master’s and then stayed to work toward her PhD and marry Jake!
In addition to their shared engineering background, Jake and Jennifer are both volunteer firefighters! (Jake is currently working to become a full-time firefighter.) In other words, these two are kind, smart, oh-so brave, and just wonderful!
And, now, Jake and Jennifer are having a baby!

Since this is where their love story began, Jake and Jennifer wanted to take their maternity photos at Purdue. (Fun fact. This session is even more sentimental because Jennifer wore her wedding shoes for her maternity photos! Just wait until you see this gorgeous mama. These are maternity photo outfit goals!)
And, despite the frigid temperatures, these two let me drag them all around the Engineering Fountain. Like I said, they were troopers!
Jake and Jennifer’s sweet babe is due on March 21, and while they know what they’re having, they’re keeping the baby’s gender a secret to surprise friends and family.

Jake and Jennifer, I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve loved getting to know you guys or how honored I am that you trusted me to take your maternity photos.
You’re both wonderful through and through, and your baby is going to be so blessed to have you both as parents.

In case you’re wondering, these are maternity outfit goals! Jennifer’s dress couldn’t be anymore perfect, and these neutral and pastel colors allow Jake and Jennifer’s faces (and the baby bump) to be the focus of the photos. Way to go, Jake and Jennifer!
At the very end of the session, Jake said, “I have kind of a weird request.”
“What’s the request?” I asked.
“Can I have a bump photo too?” LOL!
