Hey there!

I'm Victoria Rayburn.

And, I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Lafayette, Indiana wedding photographer, marketing educator, believer, wife to my best friend, goldendoodle mama, black coffee drinker, and small business supporter.

I’m a wedding photographer because I’m crazy about my husband.

I love weddings! Now, that has to be the most obvious statement to ever come from a wedding photographer. Forgive me! But, my adoration for weddings isn’t why I’m a wedding photographer.

I’m a wedding photographer because I’m head over heels for my husband (Zach), thankful for what we share, and passionate about having and maintaining a thriving relationship with him.

I believe your wedding photos can be used as a tool to help you fight for your marriage.

Every day, our wedding photos remind me why I fell in love with Zach and how thankful I am to share life with him. As a result, our wedding photos inspire me to fight for a healthy marriage and to prioritize my husband.

If you’re a bride or groom looking for a wedding photographer, you deserve wedding photos that will help you do the same! Because after all, few blessings compare to doing life with your best friend.

You deserve wedding photos that remind you of the joy you felt on your big day & why you chose your spouse!

Today,

I have two goals:

1.

To give brides & grooms wedding photos that help them remember why they chose one another.

Like I said, I believe your wedding photos can be used as a tool to help you fight for your marriage. Because I feel blessed to be married to my best friend and because I understand what a gift marriage is, it’s an honor to be able to give couples photos that help them do the same.

If you’re a bride or groom looking for a Lafayette, Indiana wedding photographer (I’m based in Lafayette but happy to travel wherever!), I’d love to chat with you about your wedding photos!

2.

To help photographers strategically market their businesses so they can live out their dreams!

Before I became a full-time wedding photographer, I worked in marketing. Today, I firmly believe that I’m able to have a career that I love because I understand how to reach my best customers. And, I feel called to help other photographers do the same!

If you’re a photographer wanting to make photography your full-time job, increase your bookings, or strategically market your business, here are some resources just for you!

1. I’m forever thankful to be married to my best friend, Zach.

If you watch The Office, our story is about identical to Jim and Pam’s. Zach and I met our junior year of high school and quickly became best friends.

While Zach’ll tell you that he knew right away that we’d someday be married, I had the same boyfriend all through high school. When said boyfriend and I broke up at the end of my senior year, Zach and I just hanging out somehow turned into dating. And, I’m so thankful it did!

We got engaged about a year and a half later (We were only 20!) and got married at age 21 (during my spring break because we didn’t want to wait any longer)!

While Zach’s my best friend, we also couldn’t be any more different. He’s musically talented; I’m tone deaf. He’s a great cook; I really hate cooking and would be fine to eat cereal. I majored in English because I love to read and am a grammar enthusiast; he rarely uses capitalization.

Zach makes life fun, joyful, and spontaneous. God gave me a husband who is everything I’m not but everything God knew I needed!

2. I’m mama to Hattie—our mini goldendoodle.

We don’t have kids yet, but we do have Hattie! Our 35-pound mini goldendoodle somehow hogs most of our bed and fills even more of our hearts! She's by best girl and goes just about everywhere with me.

Hattie is the closest thing to a business partner I have. I mean, neither a photo is edited nor a blog post is written without my puppy girl by my feet!

These are a few of Hattie’s favorite things:

  1. Simon & Halle’s Pet Boutique (for grooming and everything else dog-related we need)
  2. Fluff & Tuff Dog Toys (She has Tina the alpaca, Elsie the elephant, Lola the flamingo, and a few others!)
  3. Popcorn

See more of Hattie on Instagram! #theadventuresofhattierayburn

3. Hooray for small businesses!

Zach and I try really hard to support small businesses before big businesses. In fact, seven out of our nine grandparents, Zach’s dad, and I are entrepreneurs. As a result, we know firsthand that when you support a small business, you’re supporting a local family!

Don’t get me wrong; I love Target, Starbucks, and Amazon, but as a small business owner, I do my best to support other small businesses.

Check out my favorite small businesses in Lafayette, Indiana!

4. You can always find at least two books in my purse.

You know how Rory from Gilmore Girls always keeps a couple books on her? I do the same!

While I do love marketing and professional development books, I subscribe to Book of the Month to help me regularly read just for fun!

A few favorites I recommend:

  1. Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller
  2. Superfans: The Easy Way to Stand Out, Grow Your Tribe, and Build a Successful Business by Pat Flynn
  3. Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist
  4. EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey
  5. Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
  6. Crushing It by Gary Vaynerchuk
  7. Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk

5. Beverages of choice: black coffee, red wine, & La Croix.

While I’ll likely order a latte at a coffee shop, I drink my coffee black at home (sometimes with a sprinkle of cinnamon). A lot of coffee has been required at very points in life (like when I was working full time and spending nights and weekends growing my photography business), and at some point, I decided the extra calories and sugar from creamer needed to go!

While coffee is for the morning, red wine is for the evening. And, if you ask me, the drier the better! Zach and I might be opposites in most ways, but we both love wine and spending date night at The Cellar Wine Bistro in downtown Lafayette.

I was late to the La Croix game, but I've fallen in love. Sparkling Pamplemousse, please!

6. We binge watch The Office on repeat.

Zach says that when he gets to Heaven, the first thing he’s going to ask God is how many times we’ve watched The Office all the way through. We have no idea how many times it’s been, but we know the number is HIGH!

Zach and I actually became friends because of our love for the show. I should’ve realized he was the one when I was 17 and said, “This day is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S,” and he was the only one to get the reference.

Side Note: We gave up TV for 2020, and while it's going really well, we definitely miss The Office

7. I’m saved by Jesus Christ.

I believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, that we are saved by his sacrifice, and that we are to love others the way he did. I’m always happy to talk about what this means. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
