I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
No matter where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, it’s important to continue growing and learning. And, while I highly recommend taking online courses, going to workshops, and making conferences a priority, these education options are a major investment, and you can likely only afford to take advantage of so many of these opportunities per year.
But, I have good news for you, friend. Podcasts are 100% free, and there are countless podcasts out there that can speak wisdom into your business!
Because I love to learn, I listen to hours of podcasts every week. I mean, whether I’m running, walking Hattie, driving, or editing photos, there’s a 99% chance that I’m also listening to a podcast.
And, because I’m an avid podcast listener, I thought it’d be fun to share nine of my favorite podcasts for photographers and creative entrepreneurs with you (in no particular order). These podcasts have done wonders for my business, and I have no doubt that these shows will benefit your business too!
If we’ve talked marketing for even just five seconds, I’m sure I told you about the book Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen by Donald Miller. This is by far one of the most concise and helpful marketing books I’ve ever read.
And, guess what?! Donald Miller has a podcast, which happens to also be called Building a StoryBrand. With the help of his co-host J.J. Peterson, Donald Miller brings on CEOs, psychologists, authors, and other experts to discuss every facet of branding and running and scaling a business.
If you have yet to read Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen, order it on Amazon right now! You won’t be sorry! Then, promptly subscribe to the Building a StoryBrand podcast on iTunes here, so Donald can keep putting great marketing, branding, and business info in your head!
Hosted by photographer, marketing guru, and mac ’n cheese lover Jenna Kutcher (I’m pretty sure I could recite the intro to this podcast by heart), Goal Digger is for any woman who’s currently or dreaming of someday running her own business. (Guys, you can listen too, but Jenna definitely targets the ladies.)
I love this podcast because Jenna covers it all. From how to scale your business to finding your version of work-life balance, Goal Digger is full of golden nuggets of information and inspiration, and Jenna does an amazing job of bringing on guests who can speak into different facets of your business. (Think lawyers, influencers, accountants, and more!)

I never miss an episode of Online Marketing Made Easy, because every episode—even if I think it won’t apply to my business—is gold!
When you listen to an episode, it’s clear how much time and effort Amy Porterfield, the host, puts into this podcast. I mean, she’s clear and concise (It drives me nuts when podcasts include lots of rambling.), provides actionable steps in every episode, and brings on the best guests (Think Seth Godin, Donald Miller, and Jon Acuff.).

I by no means consider myself an influencer, and becoming an influencer isn’t a goal, but I love The Influencer Podcast because I think Julie Solomon, the host and a former publicist, does an incredible job of breaking down how you can effectively share your brand online and explore other revenue sources.

Hosted by marketing expert, former wedding photographer, and Rising Tide Society co-founder Davey Jones, Brands that Book is an incredible resource for any service-based creative entrepreneur!
Davey talks about getting your work in front of your ideal clients, creating an exceptional client experience, what information to include on your website, how you can pivot your business when you’re ready for a change, and so much more.
This podcast is one of my favorites, because I think Davey does an amazing job of bringing on guests that really make you think about your business and changes you can implement. For example, I’ve definitely tried to step my Instagram story game up since listening to episode 35 with Sweet Root Village, two florists located in DC.
While still a relatively new show, this is one of my favorite podcasts, and you can subscribe on iTunes here!
Photographer friends, you knew I had to have something on this lists just for you!
Bokeh is hosted by Nathan Holritz, photographer and owner of Photographer’s Edit. And, I have to say, this podcast really is amazing!
Nathan does an excellent job of bringing on photographers who shoot different genres and are located across the globe. I love this podcast because it offers great insight into how other photographers are running their businesses and what’s worked well and hasn’t worked for them.

This is another podcast for all the lady creative entrepreneurs out there! Hosted by Dave Ramsey personality Christy Wright, Business Boutique focuses on using the gifts God has given you to run a business, while also being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, or whatever other role you play.
Zach and I are big Dave Ramsey fans, so I was very excited to discover this podcast and hear from a businesswoman who’s committed to staying debt free and serving God through her career.

If you liked Girl, Wash Your Face, you have to check out Rachel Hollis’s podcast, RISE!
While most people know who Rachel Hollis is today, she started her entrepreneur career as a wedding coordinator, transitioned to becoming a blogger, and is now an author and motivational speaker.
I love this podcast, because Rachel is very real and honest about her entrepreneurial journey and brings on guests who are just as open and honest.

Side note: Zach and I both listen to RISE Together—a couples’ podcast Rachel and her husband, Dave, host together. We don’t necessarily agree with everything Dave and Rachel say, but we both really like this podcast, because Dave and Rachel give tactful ways to grow your marriage. Subscribe to RISE Together here!
Hosted by the Founders of Boss Project Abagail Pumphrey and Emylee Williams, Strategy Hour is both comical and informational. (There is cursing as a forewarning.)
I enjoy this podcast, because Abagail and Emylee share a behind-the-scenes look at their business in real time. (I hate that I just used that basic phrase, but it’s the best way to describe what these ladies are doing!)
Boss Project is doing big things, but this business is relatively young. And, I appreciate that Abagail and Emylee use their podcast to openly share what is and isn’t working for them in their business currently and to be transparent about mistakes they’ve made along the way.
You can subscribe to Strategy Hour on iTunes here!
As a creative entrepreneur, it’s so important to continue growing in both your craft and business knowledge, and podcasts are a great way to grow for FREE!
I hope you’ll check out some of these podcasts for photographers and creative entrepreneurs, and will let me know your thoughts! Send me a DM on Instagram to let me know what you think or if you have a podcast recommendation for me. I love discovering new shows!
Happy listening and growing, friend!
