One of the best parts about living in Lafayette, Indiana is all of the wonderful activities and people Purdue University brings to our community, including Miss Maddie Schoessel who is a member of the Class of 2021.
I was so honored when Maddie reached out on Instagram about a cap and gown shoot, and I’m thrilled to share her Purdue winter graduation photos on the blog!
Despite being a little unconventional, Maddie loved her time at Purdue.
COVID hit Maddie’s sophomore year at Purdue, and while her college experience wasn’t exactly what she thought it would be, she still thoroughly enjoyed earning her undergrad in West Lafayette, Indiana.
I asked Maddie what her favorite part about attending Purdue was, and she said, “Honestly, I loved the diverse opportunities my education gave me. I was able to study abroad, have multiple internships and research positions, and be a part of some amazing volunteer organizations. I was so, so lucky to love my course work most of the time and to work with amazing professors and students.”
On top of being involved in all of these activities and taking advantage of these opportunities, Maddie managed to graduate a full semester early with a degree in brain and behavioral sciences and a certificate in medical humanities!
Next, this hardworking woman plans to attend grad school and study bioethics and health policy.
Maddie is truly an amazing and hardworking individual, and it was such an honor to take her Purdue winter graduation photos at so many iconic Purdue locations, including the Bell Tower, Engineering Fountain, and Purdue Arch.

Maddie, congratulations on earning your bachelor’s degree! You’ve clearly worked so hard and made the best of a bit of an unconventional, unexpected college experience. You should be so proud!
