A tennis-themed engagement session on the court where a couple met? Umm. Yes please!
Brian and YooJung met through Purdue’s Tennis Club, and as a result, this sweet couple decided to take their engagement photos at Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana. And, I’m thrilled to share their photos on the blog!
Brian & YooJung met through Purdue’s Tennis Club.
Like I said, Brian and YooJung met when they were both part of Purdue’s Korean Tennis Club. Brian was the president/captain of the club, and when YooJung joined, it didn’t take him long to notice her.
While they were both in other relationships when they met, Brian and YooJung’s paths continued to cross between Tennis Club and having similar majors.
Slowly but surely, Brian and YooJung’s relationship began to grow, and when they both found themselves single, Brian and YooJung became more than friends.
Brian and YooJung planned to get married in March 2020, but due to the coronavirus, travel restrictions, and personal factors, Brian and YooJung’s wedding has been postponed for a date that isn’t officially set yet.
However, these two are so sweet, fun, and bubbly that I have no doubt that when their wedding day does come, it will be amazing!
To make their engagement session sentimental, Brian & YooJung decided to do their session where they met: Purdue & Schwartz Tennis Center!
While I’m more than happy to give location recommendations for engagement photos, engagement photos can be made extra special when a couple decides to take their photos at a location that’s sentimental to them.
With this in mind, Brian and YooJung decided that they wanted to split their session between Purdue’s beautiful campus and Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana.
We started Brian and YooJung’s session by Purdue’s Engineering Fountain and took photos with Purdue’s most iconic structures: the fountain, the Bell Tower, and the Purdue Arch.
Then, we headed to Schwartz Tennis Center to finish Brian and YooJung’s session. (Side note: Being at the tennis court with Brian and YooJung was like being there with royalty. The staff greeted these two by name and reserved a whole row. of courts for their photos. I was thoroughly impressed!)
After taking photos on the tennis court, I noticed that the light and grasses behind the tennis courts were lovely. So, Brian and YooJung changed back into their original photo outfits and let me grab a few more photos.
At one point during their session, I was so giddy that Brian said while laughing, “I think you might be more excited about our photos than we are!”
And, I have to say, he’s probably right! These two were champs and so much fun to work with.

Brian and YooJung, I know your plans have changed and that 2020 hasn’t gone anything like you expected. However, it’s clear that the two of you make a great team and love doing life together.
Whatever comes next, I have no doubt that you’ll conquer it as a team.
