From their perfect outfit choices to their genuine smiles, Andrew and Julie’s engagement session was a DREAM! And, I’m so excited to share this darling couple’s summer engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
Now, before you see Andrew and Julie’s engagement photos, I think it’s important for you to know how they met.
Just a few years ago, Andrew was working in Lafayette at TRW (now ZF), and Julie was in the midst of working on her PhD in animal science at Purdue. (Side note: Julie just finished her PhD and is now Dr. Julie Fedlpausch. Congratulations, Julie!)
Wanting to meet more people in the area, they both started attending the young adult group at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Purdue’s campus.
Saint Tom’s does an incredible job of building community both among Purdue students and the rest of the Greater Lafayette community.
These two got to know one another as friends, and their friendship later became more.
Andrew was definitely interested in Julie, but he had to be patient. This wasn’t because Julie wasn’t interested; it was simply because grad school is a crazy time, and Julie’s schedule was packed.
After unsuccessfully trying to get a date on the calendar, Andrew took a new approach. He knew Julie was going to be up for most of the night grading papers, so he showed up at Julie’s door with coffee. How thoughtful was that?!
These two have been inseparable ever since! And, if you ask me, this is proof that coffee really is key to a woman’s heart!
It only takes seconds of knowing Andrew and Julie to see how important that their faith is to them. From their words to their actions, everything they do shows that Christ comes first in their lives.
With this shared value, Andrew wanted to make sure that their faith was also reflected in his proposal to Julie.
So, last February, Andrew and Julie attended a Holy Hour together, where they spent an hour in the Chapel praying.
Now, this is something that they’d done together before, so Julie didn’t suspect a thing.
But, near the end of their hour, Andrew got Julie’s attention, got down on one knee, and asked Julie if she would give him the honor of being the second most important man in her life after Christ.
Julie was shocked and said, “Yes!”
Andrew and Julie, I pray you always keep Christ at the center of your relationship. I can tell you from experience that this is the only way a marriage can truly thrive.
In the midst of Julie writing her thesis and preparing for her dissertation, Andrew and Julie have also been planning their wedding! It’s been a huge year for them both!
In July, I had the pleasure of meeting with this darling couple about their October 5, 2019 wedding. And, with just three months until the big day, we decided that it was important to get their engagement photos in as soon as possible.
So, on August 13, Andrew and Julie met up with me for their summer engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana.
This location was perfect, because not only is downtown Lafayette beautiful, but Andrew and Julie’s wedding will be downtown at Thomas Duncan Hall. As a result, Andrew and Julie’s engagement photos essentially gave them a preview of what their wedding photos will be like.
Now, I can’t speak for Andrew and Julie, but I had so much fun during their session!
Andrew wasn’t sure about being in front of the camera for 90 minutes, but by the end of the session, these two were going from pose to pose effortlessly and had achieved a level of model status!
Andrew and Julie, thank you for letting me drag you all around downtown. You guys were a dream!
On Saturday, October 5, 2019, Andrew and Julie will become husband and wife in front of their friends and family at Saint Boniface Catholic Church and then celebrate their wedding at Thomas Duncan Hall, both of which are in downtown Lafayette.
And, I have to say that I’m so glad that Andrew and Julie’s wedding is only a few weeks away, because I can’t wait to hang out with these two again!
Andrew and Julie, your Christ-centered, joy-filled wedding day is going to be amazing, but I have no doubt that your marriage is going to be even more incredible.
I hope you love these previews! Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer!
