To say I was excited when Logan Snyder and McKenna Kilnkhamer asked me to photograph their wedding would be a huge understatement. Because, well, I spent months looking forward to their big day, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I mean, seriously, this was a photographer’s dream wedding!
I met with Logan and McKenna to discuss their wedding in Wolcott, Indiana last winter. Logan was just a year behind me in school at Tri-County, and he and my brother were great friends growing up, so I already knew what a great, fun guy Logan is and how sweet the whole Snyder family is (Logan has the most adorable nephews by the way). I knew whoever had won Logan’s heart had to be wonderful, and I was right!
Just from our one-hour consultation, it was obvious that McKenna was loving, genuine, fun, and kind. Luckily for me, it was easy to capture Mrs. McKenna Snyder’s personality on camera. Even in the outtakes, it’s obvious that Logan is a very lucky man!
Generations of McKenna’s family have been married at the Federated Church of Brookston, Indiana.
Logan and McKenna became husband and wife at the Federated Church of Brookston, Indiana. This was particularly special because McKenna’s grandparents, parents, and several other family members’ wedding ceremonies also took place here. It was an incredible thing to take family photos in a spot that means so much to the Klinkhamer family.
While Logan and McKenna partied the night away with 300 guests, their ceremony was small, intimate, and perfect. The pastor, Leland McReynolds, knew Logan, McKenna, and generations of their families very well, which made the ceremony even more special.
The bridal party was so much fun!
After the newlyweds took off in a beautiful Oldsmobile, we headed to the Wagner Angus Barn in Wolcott, Indiana for bridal party photos. This bridal party was a blast! They were great sports about having their photos taken and were amazing at laughing on cue. We got several great shots, even in a short amount of time. I hope Logan and McKenna always treasure these photos, as well as their wonderful bridesmaids and groomsmen!
Mr. & Mrs. Snyder danced the night away at Snyder Farms in Wolcott, Indiana.
Logan’s parents, Bart and Amy Snyder, have a beautiful farm in Wolcott, Indiana. They cleaned out the shop and turned it into an incredible wedding venue for the second time (Their daughter Lexi’s reception took place here as well a few years ago).
The food catered by Custom Select Catering was excellent, the speeches were both sweet and funny, and the band was amazing! McKenna and Logan heard The Flying Toasters on the Madam Caroll last year and quickly booked the band to play at their wedding. If I hadn’t been taking photos of people dancing, I totally would’ve wanted to be out on that dance floor! However, I loved taking photos of the bride and groom dancing the night away. Logan and McKenna, it’s clear you’re best friends, and I hope it always stays that way.
In the midst of the dancing, Leandra and I stole the bride and groom away to grab sunset photos. I’m so glad they let us because Bart and Amy’s yard couldn’t be anymore perfect of a backdrop. Logan proposed on the pond and ending the night taking the last of Mr. and Mrs. Snyder’s wedding photos by the pond seemed like the perfect way to end the evening.
Blissfully Simple Events deserves a shoutout.
During our consultation, Logan and McKenna told me that they were working with a wedding coordinator. Crista Tharp, owner of Blissfully Simple Events, is incredible. She kept the wedding party, families, and vendors on schedule all day long. Because Crista is so good at what she does, Logan, McKenna, and their families were able to simply enjoy the day, and the vendors always had a go-to person. If you’re getting married anytime soon, I highly recommend using Blissfully Simple Events!

Logan and McKenna, as a photographer, this will forever be one of my favorite weddings. Your day, your families, your friends, and your love were amazing.
My prayer for you is that you will always have as much fun together as you did on the dance floor, that you will always look at each other like you did during your first dance, that your wedding day will be the day that you love each other the least (because I hope your love grows), and that your marriage will always be to God’s glory.
