I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Over the last six months, Brian and Ashley’s wedding plans were forced to change more than a few times due to COVID. But, on Friday, September 18, 2020, the temperature dropped to a lovely 65 degrees, and this darling, fun, practical couple became husband and wife!
And, I’m so excited to share their intimate wedding at Holliday Park in Indianapolis on the blog!
Since getting engaged, Brian and Ashley have wanted to keep their wedding small, intimate, and relaxed but beautiful.
Their original plan was to get married in April with a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse surrounded by their immediate families and closest friends and then to celebrate with a reception and euchre tournament of about 50 people at Seasons 52. (Did you know that you can just show up at the Statehouse and get married in whatever part of the building you’d like? I didn’t!)
But, when Indiana shut down in April, Brian and Ashley were forced to reschedule their celebration. And, after navigating new coronavirus mandates and restrictions, Brian and Ashley decided it would be best and safest to move their wedding outdoors.
So, Brian and Ashley decided to do their at Holliday Park in Indianapolis and then celebrate with a beautiful backyard reception where guests could have a great time and socially distance.
Now, I don’t want to speak for them, but Brian and Ashley’s wedding day was gorgeous and relaxed, and although planning and replanning was stressful, I think it’s safe to say that they still had their dream wedding!
Ashley, Debbie (Ashley’s mom), Andrea (Ashley’s sister), and Taylor (Ashley’s best friend), began the day by visiting Drybar Indianapolis and Lori Boykin to have their hair and makeup done. Then, they headed back to the Ironworks Hotel to relax and get dressed. (They booked a gorgeous suite with lots of natural light—a dream lighting situation for getting ready photos!)
After taking photos of Ashley getting in her dress and sharing her first look with her dad (Scott), we headed to Holliday Park to meet up with Brian for Brian and Ashley’s first look, which was super sweet! Ashley looked gorgeous, and Brian just beamed when he saw her!
Then, Victoria of Marry Me In Indy! arrived, and Brian, Ashley, and the 11 people they love most gathered around the ruins for Brian and Ashley’s ceremony. And, this sweet couple officially became Mr. and Mrs. Muse on a becuatul 65-degree day in September!
After taking family, bridal party, and bride and groom photos, it was time to eat, drink, and play cards!
When Brian and Ashley’s original wedding plans were forced to change, Nick and Andrea (Ashley’s sister and brother-in-law who happen to be a 2018 VRP bride and groom) offered to let Brian and Ashley use their backyard for their reception.
Not only do Nick and Andrea have a beautiful backyard in Indianapolis, but Andrea is a wedding coordinator! (Side note: I can’t recommend Andrea Peterson Events enough!) Between Ashley, Andrea, Brian, and Nick, Nick and Andrea’s backyard was converted into a stunning venue, and I think the photos below prove that their hard work paid off!
Brian and Ashley, I know it’s been a crazy year, but you’re finally married! And, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am for the two of you or how honored I was to be your wedding photographer.
I hope your big day was everything you dreamed it would be and that you love these previews from your intimate wedding at Holliday Park, but I hope you’re loving married life even more.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Muse!
You might notice that their invitations listed their original date, but these invites are still part of Brian and Ashley’s story and gorgeous. I’m so glad Ashley wanted to include them!
Ashley and Andrea look so much alike that I was having a little déjà vu during Ashley’s getting ready photos. I adore the VanMeter family so much!
Brian says he wasn’t crying and just had something in his eye, but I’m not so sure I believe him!
