I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
It wasn’t the wedding they planned, but Scott and Molly are two of the most positive, joy-filled people I’ve ever met. And, on Saturday, December 19, 2020, Scott and Molly became husband and wife and didn’t let COVID take away an ounce of their joy!
Now, I’m thrilled to share Mr. and Mrs. Sacha’s winter wedding at the Cathedral of Saint Mary in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
In July 2020, Scott and Molly began to realize that COVID was going to affect their wedding.
While much of Indiana had reopened, Scott and Molly knew that (1) COVID numbers would inevitably get worse once it started to get cold and (2) many of their loved ones weren’t going to be able to make the trip due to military coronavirus restrictions. (Scott serves in the Air Force, and both Scott and Molly have several loved ones currently serving, which was going to prevent members of their bridal party from being present.)
Knowing this and wanting to keep their loved ones safe, Scott and Molly decided to keep their original ceremony date but move their reception. And, as a result, Scott and Molly had the sweetest, most intimate wedding!
These two shared their vows at Saint Mary’s in downtown Lafayette in front of God, their parents, Molly’s godmother, their two best friends, and a handful of socially distanced loved ones. (Saint Mary’s is large, making it easy for people to spread out.)
After their nuptial mass, Scott and Molly let Megan and I pull them outside of the gorgeous church for portraits.
Then, the newlyweds celebrated with a small, socially distanced dinner with their loved ones.
Scott and Molly’s wedding day was sweet, personal (Molly is the choir director at Saint Mary’s and knows the priests who officiated the ceremony well, making the day even more intimate.), and lovely. And, it was such a blessing for me to wrap up the 2020 wedding season with this incredible couple!
While Scott and Molly’s wedding plans were forced to change, COVID is NOT going to prevent this optimistic couple from celebrating their marriage!
Next August, Scott and Molly will celebrate becoming husband and wife with a reception at New Journey Farms in Lafayette, Indiana. And, before they dance the night away, they’ll get ready in New Journey Farms’ gorgeous bridal suite, share a first look, and take bridal party and family photos.
With the exception of a ceremony, they’ll essentially have a second wedding! So, stay tuned for even more wedding photos of this lovely couple next summer!
Scott and Molly, your wedding day was lovely, Christ-focused, intimate, fun, and just perfect.
Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer and for being so kind and thoughtful as 2020 forced you to roll with the punches.
While I’m so sorry that COVID caused you wedding planning stress this year, I’m SO excited that I have the privilege of celebrating with the two of you and photographing your wedding TWICE!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Sacha! I hope you love these previews from your winter wedding at the Cathedral of Saint Mary in Lafayette, Indiana, and I cannot wait to get you in front of the camera again in August!
And, this is EXACTLY why brides should do a first look with their dads! Chris was ecstatic to see his baby girl!
This sweet flower girl may not have thrown her petals, but she did have a big hug for her uncle when she got to the end of the aisle!
Waving to their loved ones watching from home! Scott and Molly’s wedding was live streamed so that their family and friends could watch from afar.
We’ll take even more bridal party photos when Scott and Molly celebrate their reception at New Journey Farms next August, but Max and Sara were able to stand with Scott and Molly, so we were sure to grab a few photos!
When Scott and Molly celebrate their reception in August, I hope I can take an unmasked photo with them because the world is a healthier place!
