I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
From the amazing DIY details to the groom’s “fake” laugh, I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to kick off my 2018 wedding season!
Stephen & Jessica tied the knot at the Lafayette Christian School on Sunday, May 5, 2018 (Cinco de Mayo) surrounded by their families, friends, and City of God Church family. The day was filled with love, laughter, beautiful details, lots of Mary Lou Donuts, and wedding photos at the Haan Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana. It couldn’t have been anymore perfect!
If Jessica ever decides to change career paths, she could 100% be a wedding coordinator. To be honest, DIY weddings make me a little nervous. More often than not, brides and grooms try to handle their wedding details themselves to save a little money. But, they quickly become overwhelmed and realize that they aren’t as crafty as they thought. This leaves both them and their families feeling stressed during their engagement and on the big day.
But, that was not at all the case for Stephen & Jessica! Jessica, who runs a calligraphy and home decor business on the side (Check out The Artsy Birder!), is amazingly talented and artistic. She handled nearly every detail of their wedding. This amazing bride created the invitations and save the dates, designed the venue decor, handmade their cake topper, made THE MOST GORGEOUS bouquets, had a styling bag ready for detail shots (I’ve never had a bride do this for me before, and it was incredible!), and did a million other little things I’m failing to recall.
Needless to say, this was a gorgeous wedding. And, the hard work that Jessica, Stephen, and their families put into making this day possible was evident and so worthwhile.
After the bride, groom, and their bridal party got ready at the school, we headed to the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art. This museum contains the largest collection of Indiana-made art and is on beautiful grounds—making it the perfect spot for wedding photos! (Side note: The light is best here in the morning, which worked out wonderfully for Stephen & Jessica’s 12:00 pm ceremony.)
Stephen & Jessica had their firstlook before the ceremony and then were able to take nearly all of their bride and groom, family, and bridal party portraits before walking down the aisle. This allowed them to get to their reception quickly after their ceremony. Who doesn’t like that?!
When you meet Stephen & Jessica, you quickly realize a few things: 1. Stephen is the outgoing one. 2. You’ll never meet a person who is more kind or genuine than Jessica. 3. They share a fierce love for our Lord and Savior.
From the scripture included on the decor to the message given by Pastor Eric Roseberry during the sermon, Stephen & Jessica used their wedding day to show others God’s intention for marriage and His love for all of us.
In 1 Corinthians 10:31, believers are told, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” This is exactly what Stephen & Jessica did with their wedding celebration!
Stephen & Jessica, I hope your honeymoon is fantastic and that you’re enjoying every second of married life!
More importantly though, when your honeymoon is over, I pray that you continue to keep Christ at the center of your marriage and individual lives. I’ve told you this already, but my prayer for the two of you is that your life is filled with countless blessings but that every trial you face brings you closer together and closer to Christ.
Congratulations, Stephen & Jessica! Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer!
