I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
When your first date was over a bottle of wine, you got engaged at a winery, and you regularly visit wineries and try new wines together, your engagement photos have to include a little wine!
I so loved how Dan Giangiulio and Ashley Sipe made their engagement photos their own, and I’m thrilled to share their engagement photos at The Palladium and Urban Vines Winery in Carmel, Indiana on the blog!
After matching on Hinge, finding out they were both watching HGTV, and poking a little fun at what was going on in the show, Dan and Ashley got to talking and decided to meet at Cooper’s Hawk for a glass of wine.
What they both thought would just be a casual drink turned into a four-hour conversation and closing the restaurant down!
Dan and Ashley were both shocked by (1) how easy the other was to talk to and (2) how much they have in common.
Dan and Ashley met in 2017, and since then, they’ve been working out together, attending cocktail-making classes, going to sporting events, hiking, traveling, and visiting distilleries, wineries, and breweries whenever they get the chance. (Side note: I love following Ashley’s Instagram stories, because her and Dan’s date nights definitely give me inspiration since moving to Indianapolis ourselves!)
Basically, Dan and Ashley are a super fun couple, and this super fun couple is now getting married!
In Dan and Ashley’s relationship, Dan is the chill, go-with-the-flow one, and Ashley is the planner. While Dan is always ready to have a good time, Ashley is typically the one who plans their activities and keeps track of what’s on the calendar.
As a result, Dan wasn’t sure how he could possibly plan a proposal that wouldn’t make Ashley suspicious. However, luckily, Ashley planned a weekend that—without realizing it—was the perfect time to pop the question.
You see, Ashley asked if Dan wanted to go to Bloomington, Indiana to hike and check out Oliver Winery for a weekend. And, Dan instantly knew Oliver’s gorgeous grounds would be the perfect place to ask his winery-loving best friend to be his wife.
Dan and Ashley’s engagement day started with a hike, and when they arrived to Oliver, Dan asked Ashley if she wanted to walk down by the water. Once again, Ashley didn’t think much of this. But, when they got on the dock, Dan got down on one knee and asked Ashley to be his wife. And, thanks to some planning on Dan’s part, a photographer caught the epic proposal on camera!
Dan, it’s no easy feat to (1) throw off a planner and (2) propose in a way that gives your fianceé her “perfect day,” which are Ashley’s words. You deserve major props, my friend!
Wanting their engagement photos to be true to who they are and include locations and things (cough, cough: wine) that are meaningful to them, Dan and Ashley decided to take their engagement photos at The Palladium and Urban Vines Winery in Carmel, Indiana.
We started their shoot at The Palladium. This happens to be one of my very favorite engagement photo locations in the Indianapolis area, because The Palladium and its grounds are just timeless and gorgeous. While Dan and Ashley certainly like the aesthetics of the area, they ultimately wanted to have their engagement photos taken at The Palladium, because downtown Carmel is special to them.
You see, for much of their relationship, they’ve lived in Carmel, and they regularly spend their date nights at local breweries and restaurants—including The Carmichael, which is just across the way from The Palladium.
After Dan and Ashley changed into outfit number two, we dashed out to Urban Vines Winery to catch the sunset. Urban Vines is also a location where Dan and Ashley like to spend their time, and considering wine has been such a big part of their love story, including a little wine in their engagement photos was a must!
Side Note: To the team at Urban Vines Winery, thank you so much for giving us permission to use your gorgeous property!
Long story short, I could not have enjoyed hanging out with Dan and Ashley anymore, and I so love how they thoughtfully made their engagement photos their own by choosing photo locations that are important to them.
Dan and Ashley, I cannot begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to your Iron & Ember Events wedding this fall! Between who you are as a couple and the fact that you’re planning your wedding with the assistance of Magical Moments Event Planning, I have no doubt that your big day is going to be truly amazing. Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer.
While I can’t wait for your big day, I hope you love these previews from your engagement photos at The Palladium and Urban Vines Winery in Carmel, Indiana!
