I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Between the sweetest couple, their fun families, gorgeous details, perfect weather, a surprise mother-son dance, and delicious cake, Kerry and Kelsey’s big day couldn’t have been anymore perfect or true to who they are. And, I’m so excited to share Mr. & Mrs. Collier’s summer wedding at Wabash & Erie Canal Park on the blog!
Last August, Kelsey and I met for coffee to find out if I was the right wedding photographer for her.
She told me all about Kerry, how he’s the outgoing one while she’s a little more shy, how they started dating in high school, their golden retrievers (who are adorable and the best welcome committee ever), and their home on property that they love.
Then, we started talking about wedding plans. Now, when I meet brides for coffee for the first time, most usually have colors or a general theme picked. But, they usually still have quite a bit to figure out.
This wasn’t the case for Kelsey at all, which made me quickly realize how organized and creative this lovely girl is!
Kelsey told me that she and Kerry were planning an enchanted forest wedding in the woods behind their house. How incredible is that?!
They were going to clear a few trees to make room for the ceremony, and she wanted everything to feel like magic.
I truly can’t believe that Kerry and Kelsey created this perfect, enchanted-forest wedding without the help of a coordinator, because every detail was flawless! I mean, Snow White would’ve felt right at home!
Kelsey, if you ever want to make a career change and become a wedding stylist, you 100% could!
After their lovely ceremony, Kerry, Kelsey, and their guests celebrated the Colliers’ summer wedding at Wabash & Erie Canal Park’s Conference Center in Delphi, Indiana.
And, there are a few highlights from their reception that I can’t help sharing with you!
Now, Kelsey didn’t just make one cake; she made FOUR cakes with TIERS! The cakes were beautiful AND delicious. Megan (my second shooter) and I couldn’t help eating a slice.
Kerry and his mom, Stacie, began their dance slow dancing. It was a sweet moment. Then, the beat dropped!
Kerry and Stacie did the twist, the wobble, and coutless other dances, and guests watched them whip and nae nae. Not even the bride knew this was coming! This was such a fun surprise!
This isn’t necessarily reception related, but it does need to be mentioned.
You see, Saturday wasn’t just Kerry and Kelsey’s wedding day. It was also the lovely bride’s birthday!
Kerry’s a lucky guy and only has to remember one important date every year. Kelsey did make it clear, however, that Kerry still owes her two gifts every year. Ha!
Kerry and Kelsey are the kind of people who are simply fun to be with, and their wedding day was every bit as much fun as they are.
Kerry and Kelsey, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am for you!
I hope you loved every second of your enchanted-forest wedding, but more importantly, I hope you’re elated to finally be husband and wife. (These two enjoyed being fiancés for three years!)
Thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. I hope you love these previews and that your wedding photos forever remind you of the vows you made to one another.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Collier!
I just couldn’t believe all of the details Kelsey created. The ceremony space was truly amazing!
This is why I take couples out for sunset photos. The light at the canal was AMAZING! And, these two couldn’t be anymore gorgeous!
I couldn’t help grabbing a photo with the bride and groom!
