In college, Andy and Emily met in a donut shop. (You can read more about their super sweet meeting story here!) And, on October 6, 2019, this darling couple didn’t exchange donuts, but they did exchange something else that’s also round and has a hole—rings!
Mr. and Mrs. Rowe’s wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana couldn’t have been anymore perfect or true to who they are as a couple, and I’m thrilled to share their big day on the blog!
With family living throughout Indiana and Illinois, Andy and Emily wanted to get married at a venue that was relatively central for their families. They decided that Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana would be the perfect location to become husband and wife!
Andy, Emily, their bridal party, and their families began the day by getting ready at Aberdeen Inn. (Side note: This inn is lovely, and from a photography perspective, the lighting in their bridal suite couldn’t have been anymore ideal! If you’re planning a wedding, I can’t recommend this inn enough!)
Andy and Emily enjoyed their first look just outside the inn and then traveled to Aberdeen Manor to take bridal party and family photos.
Then, this darling couple became husband and wife in the Aberdeen Chapel, where their ceremony was officiated by Paul Dyke, Andy’s youth pastor growing up.
After the ceremony and grabbing a few sunset photos, Andy, Emily, and their guests celebrated Mr. and Mrs. Rowe’s wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana with a delicious meal, several toasts, and lots of dancing!
Andy and Emily are so good to the people around them, and to love on the bride and groom, Emily and Andy’s loved ones arranged several surprises for them throughout the day!
For example, Andy’s mom, Audrey, wanted to make sure that Andy and Emily’s grandfathers who are no longer with us were still part of the day. So, she surprised Andy with a photo of his grandfather on a keychain that Andy could carry with him in his pocket and gifted Andy with his grandfather’s tie tack. Audrey also gifted Emily with a Christmas ornament that featured a photo of Emily and her grandfather.
Before heading to the chapel, Audrey surprised Andy and Emily with a limo! Andy and Emily knew that Audrey was taking care of transportation, but they had no idea that a stretch limo would be their ride for the evening until it pulled up after their first look. Audrey’s love language is clearly gift giving!
During the reception, Emily and Andy had a surprise for their guests! Guests assumed they were simply watching Emily and Andy’s first dance, but then, it started to snow in the ballroom!! This was such a lovely touch!
There were a lot of fun surprises throughout the day, and I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but it was so much fun to see how Andy and Emily’s loved ones loved on the bride and groom throughout the day with surprises.
Andy and Emily, I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer or how blessed I feel to now be able to call you both friends. (Side note: Andy and I go way back! We went to school and cheered together. It was such a privilege to photograph an old friend’s wedding.)
I hope your big day was everything you dreamt it would be, but more importantly, I hope you’re elated to finally be husband and wife!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Rowe! I hope you love these previews from your wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana!
