I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
“This is probably the most laid back wedding you’ve ever done isn’t it?” Drew asked me during his and Steph’s reception.
And, I’m pretty sure Drew is right!
Andrew and Stephanie Hensley’s wedding day was relaxed and easygoing but oh-so sweet—just like this VRP bride and groom. And, I’m so excited to share Drew and Steph’s Exploration Acres wedding in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
While Steph and Drew knew they wanted to keep their wedding simple and only celebrate with the friends and family they’re closest to, Mr. and Mrs. Hensley decided that they could each go all out on one aspect of their wedding. So, Drew picked food, and Steph picked wedding photos!
To make Drew’s taco bar wedding dreams come true, Steph and Drew booked Shoup’s Country Foods, a catering company that always does an amazing job! In fact, they did such a great job that I’m pretty sure Drew had six very large tacos. Other than getting to marry his best friend, I’m pretty sure the tacos were his favorite part of the day!
Steph, on the other hand, values photos and wanted to make sure that a significant portion of their wedding budget went toward wedding photography. After all, wedding photos are one of very few wedding investments that last beyond the big day itself.
Steph, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer! It was a huge honor, especially knowing how important photos are to you.
In addition to eating tacos and being in front of my camera, Steph and Drew’s wedding day included quality time with family (Much of Steph’s family drove all the way from Pennsylvania!); fall decor created by Steph, her mama, and her now mother-in-law; and hayrides for guests courtesy of Exploration Acres!
When Steph and I met for her final check-in meeting, Steph said, “Our wedding will be more like a picnic where two people get married than a traditional wedding.” And, I have to say that this was the sweetest, most lovely picnic I’ve ever attended! Steph and Drew, your day was beautiful, and I hope you loved every second.
Now, I can’t possibly wrap up the written portion of this blog post before talking about Steph’s wedding dress.
You see, Steph wore her mama’s wedding dress!
According to Sue, Steph’s mom, when she wore the dress 30 years before, she never imagined that she’d someday have a daughter who would want to wear the same dress and veil.
But, when Steph discovered that her mom’s dress fit her perfectly, Steph knew she wanted to wear her mom’s gown—hoop skirt and all! And, I have to say that her mama’s wedding dress looked pretty epic in the Indiana countryside!
Steph and Drew, thank you so much for trusting me to be your wedding photographer! I’ve loved getting to know the two of you, and Megan, Shelby, and I had such a great time photographing you guys and hanging out with the two of you and your guests on your wedding day.
I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon and that you love these previews from your Exploration Acres wedding in Lafayette, Indiana. But, I hope you’re loving married life even more!
In case you didn’t read the details above, Steph decided to wear her mama’s wedding dress! Want to see more of Steph and Drew? Check out their engagement photos at the Tippecanoe Battlefield!
