When two couples are celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary and Mom and Dad are celebrating their 40th all within the same year, scheduling family photos is a MUST! I loved hanging out with the Stewart fam, and I’m so excited to share their family photos at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana on the blog!
Sarah is also a photographer, & it was a huge honor to be trusted to take these photos!
Now, considering how many things the Stewarts have to celebrate this year, it was such a privilege to take these photos for them. However, shooting this session was even more of an honor because Sarah (the daughter in the navy cardigan) of Sarah Kappes Photography is a phenomenal photographer herself. She personally reached out to me and asked me if I would do this shoot for her family, and I was SO flattered!
It’s both an honor and a little nerve wracking to take photos for another photographer, but Sarah was nothing but kind. Sarah, thank you for (1) trusting me to take these photos for your family and (2) being such a wonderful person!
Sarah & Karen made this shoot extra epic with a surprise for their parents.
While Don and Barb were tickled to have family photos taken for their anniversary—especially considering David and Karen drove all the way from Dayton, Ohio for the occasion—Sarah and Karen had one more surprise for their parents.
You see, Sarah tracked down photos from her parents’ wedding, and she and Karen had an ornament replica of Don and Barb’s wedding cake made. How sweet is that?!
It was truly amazing how much the ornament looked like Don and Barb’s wedding cake, and I have to say that I love their classic cake with yellow flowers. This was such a great cake choice on their part 40 years ago!

According to Josh, his mama takes his picture every day. This blue-eyed boy is so sweet and so much fun to have in front of the camera! 
The Stewarts asked if it would be okay for Roscoe, David and Karen’s basset hound, to be included in family photos. And, I’m so glad they decided to include him! Grandma and Grandpa certainly want photos with their granddog too!
Isn’t this beautiful and so thoughtful?! I’m totally keeping this in mind as a gift idea! Way to go, Sarah and Karen!
