Episode 025: How to Set & Communicate Clear Expectations with Your Clients with Felicia Dale
September 22, 2021It’s a huge privilege whenever a couple trusts me to be their wedding photographer. However, it was a particular honor to be asked to be Garrett and Jenna Smith’s wedding photographer.
You see, Garrett has been one of Zach’s (my husband’s) best friends since preschool, and Garrett is one of the most kind, loving, and respectful men I’ve ever known. (I mean, he’s willingly watched Gilmore Girls with me. He’s a keeper.)
For what seems like a long time, our friend group has been waiting for Garrett to find someone worthy of his love, and two years ago, it quickly became evident that Jenna was that woman. (Personally, I was positive that they’d get married after seeing them on the dance floor at Bret and Leslie’s wedding last year!)
Zach (who was a groomsmen) and I were so thankful to be small parts of Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s big day, and now, I’m both excited and honored to share Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s wedding at The Edge in Anderson, Indiana on the blog!
Garrett & Jenna’s wedding day was 100% true to who they are.
Between the perfect weather, gorgeous decor, and how stunning Jenna looked, the Smith wedding was an ideal wedding from a wedding vendor perspective. But, knowing Garrett and Jenna, what stood out about their wedding most was how their wedding day was perfectly them in every way.
I mean, if you know the Smiths, you know that their priorities include Christ, one another, their families, their friends, Chewie (their goldendoodle), having a good time, and hitting the dance floor like no one’s watching. And, just like these priorities are evident in the way Garrett and Jenna live their lives, their priorities were also very clear on their wedding day.
There are countless sweet moments and details I could mention from their celebration, but here are just a few that were perfectly Garrett and Jenna:
- They grabbed one another’s butts at the altar.
- They used their celebration to point their loved ones to Christ.
- During their ceremony, their pastor read marriage advice written by their parents.
- For their first kiss as husband and wife, Jenna jumped into Garretts’ arms.
- Garrett wore socks with Chewie’s face on them. (Chewie was supposed to be in the wedding, but after crying through the rehearsal because he wanted Mom and Dad to hold him, Garrett and Jenna decided to leave him at home.)
- Garrett had several goofy photo ideas. Jenna told him he could pick one, which you’ll have to scroll to see!
- Garrett and Jenna entered their reception to “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” by Big and Rich.
- These two were on the dance floor from the time it opened to the time it shut down.
Basically, it was an epic wedding for an even more epic couple. Garrett and Jenna, I hope you loved every minute of your wedding at The Edge in Anderson, Indiana. Because, I can promise your guests and wedding vendors did!
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Smith!
Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I cannot begin to explain how much of an honor it was to be your wedding photographer. Zach and I are so thrilled for the two of you and are looking forward to many, many more years of friendship and goldendoodle playdates. Please know that we will always be here for you and will always be rooting for you. Now, my friends, I hope you love these previews from your wedding at The Edge in Anderson, Indiana! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Smith (and Chewie)!
Like I said, perfectly Garrett and Jenna with a little butt grabbing at the altar!
It just wouldn’t be Garrett’s wedding if there weren’t at least a couple “silly” photos!
