Occasionally, I have families whose photo sessions have to be rescheduled due to just rotten luck. For the Patriquins, we had to reschedule their session for bad weather and then for pink eye and a goose egg.
But, this spring, I was finally able to get Logan, Shaina, Emery, and Brynn in front of the camera, and I’m so excited to share their family photos at the Haan Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
When families schedule family photos, they often think that their photographer expects their kids to sit still and smile sweetly on command. But, as a family photographer, I can tell you that sessions don’t typically go like this. And, that’s okay!
Little ones, especially toddlers, have minds and agendas of their own. And, sometimes, rather than forcing posed family photos, it’s best to just let the kids run the show and for photographers and parents to adapt. (This is extra hard with social distancing at the moment since photographers can’t touch kiddos!)
Emery and Brynn weren’t particularly interested in sitting or having photos taken, but they were very interested in exploring the Haan Mansion and looking at dogs passing by. So, that’s exactly what they did while I snapped photos in between!
Logan and Shaina, I hope you love these candid moments with your girls!
Like I said, Emery and Brynn seemed to really enjoy exploring the Haan Mansion. They liked climbing the steps and peaking in the windows, and Emery was very curious to know who lived in this big house.
Emery and Brynn were cracking me up, because at the rate that they move and dash off in another direction, they don’t seem to have any fear, just curiosity.
And, I have to say that I think this because they know that they have amazing parents who will always protect them and be right behind them to scoop them up and make things better if they go too far.
Logan and Shaina, you’re clearly awesome parents! And, I hope you love your family photos at the Haan Mansion in Lafayette, Indiana!
