I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Guests couldn’t help but laugh when Sarah said, “We killed a lot of trees sending you so many invitations to our wedding!” during her and Wade’s thank you speech.
You see, Wade Combs and Sarah Swiezy originally planned to celebrate their marriage in spring 2020, but just a couple weeks before the big day, the world shut down. Then, they tried to replan for 2021, but when another surge hit the US, Wade and Sarah made the tough decision to postpone again to keep their loved ones safe.
But, after two years, planning their wedding THREE times with the help and guidance of Magical Moments Event Planning (one of my very favorite wedding planners), and mailing multiple invitations (which were all beautifully created by Pickle Prints Custom Paper Creations), Wade and Sarah FINALLY got to have their Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and Finley Creek Vineyards wedding, and I’m so excited to share photos from their long awaited wedding day on the blog!
After waiting so long for this special day, Wade, Sarah, and their loved ones wanted to make the most of it. As a result, this perfect wedding day included a bit of a tour by limo of the Indianapolis area.
The day began with Wade, Sarah, their families, and their bridal party getting ready at Marriott North Indianapolis. And, from the very beginning of the day, it was clear that Wade and Sarah’s wedding day was going to be amazing! I mean, when we arrived, the girls were dancing, and it was clear that Wade and Sarah’s loved ones were ready to give Wade and Sarah the best day.
After sharing their first look by the water just outside Marriott North, Wade, Sarah, and their bridal party hopped in the limo, and we headed to Coxhall Gardens for bridal party photos. And, guys, I have to say that this bridal party was so much fun to work with. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and man of honor, thank you for being so kind, wonderful, and helpful!
After bridal party photos, we traveled to the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, where Sarah and Wade were finally able to share their vows in front of their friends and family and receive blessings from their loved ones.
Following their ceremony, we moved on to family photos in the temple. To be honest, family photos are often a little stressful and tense. However, I have to say that these were some of the most joy-filled extended family photos that I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking. You see, it’d been years since many family members had been able to see one another, and every side of the family was just so ecstatic to be together!
While we had planned to take more bride and groom portraits outside the temple after family photos, it began to pour almost the second we went outside. As a result, we got Wade and Sarah in the limo and headed to their reception at Finley Creek Vineyards in Zionsville.
When it became clear we weren’t going to get a gap in the rain and because I knew Wade and Sarah had waited so long for this special day, rather than forcing photos, I gave this sweet bride and groom a proposition. I asked Sarah, “How would you guys feel about just enjoying your reception and getting back in your wedding clothes later this week to take photos of just the two of you?”
Thankfully, Wade and Sarah were all for this! As a result, this darling couple didn’t have to do anything for the rest of the night but enjoy being with their loved ones.
Two years is a long time to have to postpone your wedding, and I think it’s safe to say that most people would get wrapped up in the frustration of it all, which included having to book a new photographer just 10 days before their wedding. But, that was not the case for Wade and Sarah.
Despite the trials and losses of the last few years, Wade, Sarah, and their loved ones spent April 30, 2022 relishing being together and remembering and honoring those who couldn’t be with them.
There were countless ways and special details and heirlooms that allowed Wade and Sarah to commemorate their loved ones who have passed. And, images of many of these items are below. But, I can’t help sharing one special detail. You see, on her wedding day, Sarah wore her great grandmother’s veil.
Sarah’s great uncle found the veil in a box a couple years ago, asked Sarah if she’d like to see it, and to Sarah’s surprise, the more than 100-year-old veil matched her gown perfectly. Just wait until you scroll and see!
Wade and Sarah, I know you’ve technically been married for a couple years now, but congratulations on FINALLY being able to celebrate your marriage!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. I know it was a huge decision to book with a different photographer just 10 days before your big day, and it means so much that you allowed me to capture this special day for both the two of you and your loved ones.
I cannot wait to share your full gallery with you, but in the meantime, I hope you love these previews from your Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation and Finley Creek Vineyards wedding!
In case you didn’t read all the text above, Sarah’s veil was actually her great grandmother’s veil! A couple years ago, Sarah’s great uncle found the veil in a box and offered it to Sarah. Naomi (Sarah’s mom) and Sarah were shocked when they realized the veil matched Sarah’s dress perfectly. How sweet is that?! You can see Sarah’s great grandmother wearing the veil in the framed photo approximately 100 years ago. I do have to say that I think Naomi (Sarah’s mama) deserves some kind of an award. Over the last couple years, she’s gone above and beyond in her mother of the bride duties. In addition to all the planning and replanning, Sarah was in the midst of medical school. With a full plate, Sarah trusted her mom to make many of the wedding decisions. Naomi, it was such a pleasure to get to know you! I’ll never stop being blown away by Chrissy Huadacin of Special Occasion Designs’ work. If you’re looking for a florist in the Indianapolis area, she’s your gal! Wade and Sarah’s wedding day was a long-time coming, but as Sarah said in her speech, they owed a huge thank you to the “woman of the hour”—Lora of Magical Moments Event Planning. Lora and her team do amazing work, and I can’t recommend Magical Moments enough. I mean, they’re exceptional planners, and they create flawless spaces—like this! Sarah’s a former cheerleader, and with several former teammates on the guest list, this was a VERY epic hora!In case you didn’t see the note above, we actually took Wade and Sarah’s bride and groom photos a few days after their wedding. When it became clear that there wasn’t going to be a break in the rain and because we wanted Wade and Sarah to thoroughly enjoy their long-awaited wedding day, I asked Sarah and Wade how they’d feel about putting their wedding clothes on later in the week to take their portraits at Coxhall Gardens. Thankfully, they were on board, and I’m so glad they were! Since we took Wade and Sarah’s bride and groom photos after their big day, Miss Trudy got to come too!
