I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Dylan Christopher and Kamrin Bick have known one another their whole lives, and on Saturday, July 24, 2021, they officially joined their lives as husband and wife.
Their wedding day was equally lovely, sweet, and fun (Just wait until you see how packed the dance floor was!), and I’m so excited to share Mr. and Mrs. Christopher’s Gathering Acres wedding in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
Just like they are, Dylan and Kamrin’s wedding day was both organized and detailed (Kamrin’s my girl!) and a whole lot of fun.
The day started with Dylan, Kamrin, and their bridal party getting ready at Gathering Acres in Lafayette, Indiana. (Gathering Acres has an Airbnb on the property, which relieves A LOT of stress for couples!) After the girls had their hair and makeup done—which looked flawless by the way thanks to Hair by Kelli Taylor, Beauty by Becca, and Nicole Foutch—and Kamrin shared first looks with her bridesmaids and dad, Kamrin and Dylan shared their first look on Gathering Acres’ Airbnb’s lovely wrap-around porch.
Dylan and Kamrin also exchanged gifts and shared their personally written vows in private through happy teas. (I mean, there was so much emotion in their words. There is something so incredibly special about marrying someone you’ve known your whole life. If you’re interested, you can read more of their story and find out how Kamrin bravely made the first move here!)
Then, Dylan and Kamrin’s bridal party joined us on the porch for bridal party photos!
After bridal party photos, Dylan and Kamrin boarded the Loaded Transportation bus and headed to Chalmers Community Church—the church Kamrin grew up in—for their ceremony.
There were several beautiful aspects about Kamrin and Dylan’s ceremony, but I think that guests would agree that Mr. and Mrs. Christopher’s willow tree was the most notable part. You see, rather than doing a typical unity candle or sand ceremony, Dylan and Kamrin watered and fertilized a willow tree, which happens to represent flexibility and stability making it a beautiful representation of marriage. Kamrin and Dylan will plant this tree in their yard on their farm, and for all of their days, it will be a beautiful reminder of the promise they made to one another.
Side note: Dylan and Kamrin, I think you should take a photo by your tree every year on your anniversary. It would be so cool to look back through all of the photos 50 years from now!
After they were officially Mr. and Mrs. Christopher and family photos were taken at the church, Dylan, Kamrin, and their bridal party headed back to Gathering Acres for a few more photos and then made their grand entrance to their reception.
Speaking of their reception, I have to give major props to DJ Joe Sheets! I mean, Kamrin, Dylan, and their friends and family are a lot of fun, so I knew the dance floor would be packed, but Joe does an incredible job of reading the room and keeping guests entertained. Kamrin and Dylan, you picked an amazing DJ!
Then, a little before 9:00 pm, we sneaked Kamrin and Dylan out for their sunset photos. I try to make these short and sweet, but when Kamrin asked, “Can we take just a few more photos?” my wedding-photographer heart nearly exploded! I mean, just wait until you see how gorgeous this couple looked in the evening light! If the sun hadn’t gone down, I could’ve kept them out there forever!
If it isn’t obvious from the section above, Kamrin and Dylan’s Gathering Acres wedding in Lafayette, Indiana was incredible. (Also, shout out to wedding coordinators Tori McKay and Sadie Stinnett! They were such a pleasure to work with, and I love how they keep everything moving.)
However, as lovely as all of the details were and how much fun everyone had, what stood out most to me about Kamrin and Dylan’s wedding day was how evident it was that faith and family come first to them. And, here are just a few examples of how this was shown:
Dylan and Kamrin, I hope and pray you continue to value faith, one another, and family above all else throughout your whole marriage just like you did on your wedding day.
Kamrin and Dylan, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer!
I’ve loved getting to know the two of you over the last year (Kamrin, I’m so glad we’ve been able to bond over our attention to detail!), meeting your families, and—of course—getting to meet and pet your super sweet pups!
I hope you love these previews from your Gathering Acres Wedding in Lafayette, Indiana, but I hope you’re loving married life even more. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher!
I can’t get over Dylan and Kamrin’s dusty-blue and yellow color palette. They used just enough yellow to keep it subtle and make it pop! Can we talk about these bouquets?! Gypsy Floral Design did an amazing job! To keep them close on her wedding day, Kamrin had hearts sewn into her wedding dress made from her grandfathers’ clothing. This was such a sweet touch. For their guest book, Dylan and Kamrin ordered an 8×8 linen heirloom album for their engagement photos and had their guests sign the inside cover. I loved this idea because few couple look through their guest book ever again, but whenever Dylan and Kamrin flip through their engagement photos, they’ll be able to also remember who celebrated their wedding with them! Rather than doing a typical unity candle or sand ceremony, Dylan and Kamrin watered and fertilized a willow tree, which happens to represent flexibility and stability making it a beautiful representation of marriage. Kamrin and Dylan will plant this tree in their yard on their farm, and for all of their days, it will be a beautiful reminder of the promise they made to one another. Dylan’s best men deserve a shoutout! Dane was the ultimate hype man and so helpful all day, and Garrett certainly knows how to keep things fun. They balanced one another out well! Oakley and Paisley (Dylan and Kamrin’s dogs) might not have been able to attend their wedding, but they were certainly still included. I love this little touch! If couples like, Gathering Acres will release flower petals during the first dance. How sweet is that?! Even the owners of Gathering Acres (on the right) got out on the dance floor for the anniversary dance! DJ Joe Sheets kept the dance floor packed all night! During sunset photos, Kamrin asked, “Can we take just a few more photos?” And, my heart about burst! I’m so glad this sweet couple sees the value of photos and were willing to take some extra time for portraits! Want to see more of Dylan and Kamrin?
