Rainen and Trenton Howard call Texas their home now, but on Saturday, June 3, 2023, they came back to Lafayette, Indiana—which is where they met at Purdue University—to celebrate their marriage with the most beautiful, intentional wedding at New Journey Farms.
I cannot begin to explain how honored I was to be Trenton and Rainen’s wedding photographer or how excited I am to share previews from their big day on the blog!
Trenton & Rainen became husband & wife with a New Journey Farms wedding in Lafayette, Indiana.
Like I mentioned before, Rainen and Trenton now live in the Lone Star State. However, many of their loved ones are in the Midwest, and as a result, it made sense to go back home to become husband and wife.
Rainen Harper and Trenton Howard’s wedding day started with the girls and guys getting ready in New Journey Farms’ incredible bride and groom suites while several of the bridal party members also worked on assembling signage. Karli and Ty—the owners of Boards by Buttice—happened to be in the bridal party, and their wooden details and photo backdrop were just lovely on Rainen and Trenton’s big day!
After Rainen and her girls were ready and formal getting ready photos were taken, Rainen shared first looks with both her mom and new mother-in-law and then with her bridesmaids. We then took Trenton’s getting ready photos before heading outside for Trenton and Rainen’s first look.
Covered by shade on a warm June day, New Journey Farms’ back patio made the perfect location for Rainen and Trenton to share their first look and to share their personally written vows in private. And, I have to say that this was one of the most beautiful first looks I’ve ever witnessed. Between both Trenton’s reaction to seeing his bride to the words Rainen and Trenton shared, it was clear that this amazing VRP bride and groom could not wait to be married.
Following their first look and private vow reading, Rainen and Trenton’s bridal party of 20 joined us for bridal party photos. Now, this large bridal party is certainly a testament to how wonderful Rainen and Trenton are and how well they love and care for those in their life.
After bridal party photos—which were very fun by the way—Rainen and Trenton went inside to rest and get in the right headspace before Rainen’s father and grandfather walked her down the aisle and this darling VRP bride and groom became husband and wife.
After a beautiful, Christ-centered ceremony, we took family photos and then snuck the bride and groom away for portraits before they entered their gorgeous reception. Now, New Journey Farms is always beautiful, but between the decor and design by Wilson Events by Design, florals by Gypsy Florals, and signage from Boards by Buttice, Rainen and Trenton’s wedding reception was truly stunning. And, it made the perfect backdrop for DJ Troy of DJ Sound Solution to drop the beat and pack the dance floor! (If you’re looking for a great DJ, I cannot recommend Troy enough!)
After Rainen and Trenton shared a choreographed first dance, Trenton shared a dance with his mama, speeches were made, and the dance floor opened, we snuck Rainen and Trenton out for their sunset photos. And, honestly, I cannot wait for Rainen and Trenton to see these images! This couple could not be any more stunning!
Also, I want to give a huge shout out to New Journey Farms for having a golf cart ready to pick up the bride and groom, the VRP team, and Real Media Productions (Rainen and Trenton’s amazing videographer whom was an absolute joy to work with) right at sunset so we could take photos and video as quickly as possible so that Rainen and Trenton could return to their celebration.
Then, after sunset portraits, we hugged Mr. and Mrs. Howard goodbye, and they returned to their epic reception.
Rainen and Trenton, it’s been such a pleasure to get to know the two of you over the last year, and it was truly an honor to be your wedding photographer. Thank you so much for trusting us to capture your perfect first day of marriage.
Trenton & Rainen started their marriage by promising to always point one another to Christ.
Again, every detail of Trenton and Rainen Howard’s wedding day was beautiful. I mean, between their gorgeous venue, flawless decor, custom ice sculptures, and how stunning both this bride and groom looked, it was a gorgeous day.
But, I think Rainen and Trenton’s loved ones would agree that the most beautiful part of this couple’s wedding day was the fact that they started their marriage by promising to always point one another to Christ. In both the private vows they wrote for one another and the vows they shared in front of their family and friends, Trenton and Rainen promised to keep God at the center of their marriage. And—at least in my opinion—there’s no better way to start a marriage.

Trenton and Rainen, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. Again, I’ve absolutely loved getting to know the two of you over the last year.
