I’m a big believer in supporting small, local businesses, which makes Lafayette, Indiana the perfect place for me to live. There are countless local coffee shops (Star City, Fuel, and Java Jo’z are my favorites), restaurants (Black Sparrow is excellent), wine places (try Cellar 422 and Wildcat Creek Winery), candy shops (I love McCords), service providers, and business professionals (I highly recommend Treefrog Marketing and BlueSafe Financial).

However, Lafayette definitely falls short when it comes to clothing boutiques. So, I was very excited when Haleigh Schoon, a friend from City of God, announced that she was opening Paisley & Plow!

Paisley & Plow is the CUTEST online boutique.

Paisley & Plow doesn’t have a storefront—at least not yet—but this online boutique is an amazing Lafayette, Indiana business that I’d encourage any woman to support.

Haleigh describes Paisley & Plow’s style as “eclectic and unique” and a little Bohemian. She chooses feminine patterns—lots of florals and lace—and wants clothes to be “comfortable” and “flattering on a variety of body types.”

As of right now, Paisley & Plow carries clothing, plus sizes, and jewelry. Check out Haleigh’s collection before I buy it all!

Haleigh and I worked out an exchange.

I met Haleigh through City of God Church; we attend the same City Group. Haleigh is a lot of fun to be around, and I love how open and honest her personality is.

I fell in love with Haleigh’s items immediately and asked her if we could do a trade: I’d take photos in exchange for clothing. I was literally paid in clothes! Can life get any better?

Justice and Alyssa are the most beautiful models.

In addition to running her boutique, Haleigh works at Cornerstone Autism Center, where she apparently works with crazy beautiful women. Haleigh asked coworkers Alyssa (left) and Justice (right) to model for this session, and they couldn’t have been more perfect. Alyssa’s naturally sweet disposition and Justice’s fierce composure were perfect for representing the Paisley & Plow brand.  

I’m in love with Paisley & Plow’s spring collection!

The goal for this session was to take photos of Paisley & Plow’s spring collection, which is amazing. The florals, the laces, the fringe. I love it all!

We started this Lafayette, Indiana boutique’s session at Second Level Studios. We took retail photos in front of a white background for Haleigh’s website, and Alyssa and Justice killed it! They’re natural models and represented Paisley & Plow’s brand well.  

After we finished in the studio, we hit Downtown Lafayette. Haleigh let me pick one set of outfits, so I picked the lace and the fringe (my favorites).

Then, we took photos of with these lovely floral dresses. Alyssa and Justice were great sports about walking through Lafayette with matching outfits; a lot of giggling took place. By the way, these dresses would be perfect for Easter!

Haleigh’s dreams are coming true.

While I’m normally a family photographer, I loved this session. Opportunities to work with small businesses—especially a boutique with adorable clothing—are always rewarding. Small business owners are hard workers with dreams and aspirations for both themselves and their families.

Haleigh’s dreams are coming to life because of her hard work (and great taste), her supportive family, and God’s grace. Haleigh, I admire you so much, and I hope there are opportunities to work together again. See you at City Group!
