I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
In just a few months, I think I’m going to have some serious deja vu. You see, in October, Tyler Nolan and Rachel Foguth will celebrate their marriage with a reception at The Rat Pak Venue—an incredible wedding venue in downtown Lafayette—and we’ll take many of their wedding photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana.
And, because Tyler and Rachel enjoy spending time in this historic downtown area, they decided that they’d also like to take their spring engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana.
I cannot wait to get this darling couple in front of the camera again on their big day, but for now, I’m thrilled to share their engagement photos on the blog!
In March 2021, Tyler joined CatholicMatch. And, on his very first day utilizing the app, he received a heart from Rachel. While he was a bit nervous to try online dating, Tyler decided to send Rachel a message.
They messaged back and forth and then decided to take their conversation to a video call. This then turned into a multiple-hour-long conversation where they skipped small talk and went straight to deep questions about life, faith, and more.
Two weeks later, Tyler drove to Lafayette from northern Indiana, and he and Rachel (Brace yourself for the world’s cutest first date!) spent the afternoon in Barnes & Noble drinking coffee and looking at books. (I’m sorry, but my English-major heart can’t handle how sweet this is!)
After their long video call and several other conversations leading up to their first date, Tyler and Rachel had a good feeling about one another. But, their first date really solidified the fact that they wanted to spend more time together.
Rachel and Tyler spent the next few months Facetiming through the week to handle the long distance, driving back and forth on the weekends, checking out local coffee shops together whenever they had the chance, wandering shops and art galleries, and just enjoying time together.
Then, the following fall, Tyler popped the question in a way that was somehow even more adorable than his and Rachel’s first date.
Less than a year after they met, Rachel thought that she, Tyler, and some friends were going to The Toledo Museum of Art to simply look at art—which is something she and Tyler do regularly.
On that particular day, however, Rachel decided to wear heels after Tyler suggested that they dress up for the occasion. With aching feet and knowing they’d be there a while, when the group got to Tyler’s favorite hall, Rachel took a seat so she could look while setting.
“Would you mind standing up?” Tyler asked.
Although her feet were sore and she was sufficiently confused, Rachel stood up in the museum, and when she did, Tyler got down on one knee.
Rachel was so excited that Tyler had to actually ask Rachel to marry him three times before she could take a breath and say, “Yes!”
How sweet is that? I mean, their first date, proposal story, and everything about Tyler and Rachel could inspire a Nicholas Sparks story for sure!
Since getting engaged, Tyler has moved to Lafayette. And, now, Tyler and Rachel spend many of their date nights/afternoons checking out coffee shops and other gems in downtown Lafayette.
As a result, they decided to take their spring engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana. And, guys, they killed it! From their darling outfits (Rachel made the first dress featured below!) to the fact that they weren’t afraid to snuggle in close in front of the camera (Touch happens to be both of their love languages.), I loved every part of Tyler and Rachel’s engagement session.
We started their shoot on the square in downtown Lafayette. We used the courthouse, ventured to the train station, and hit up a few other nearby locations.
Then, we drove over to The Tippecanoe Arts Federation. While this isn’t the museum where Tyler and Rachel got engaged, it has a very similar vibe to The Toledo Museum of Art, which made the location pretty perfect!
Like I said before, Tyler and Rachel’s wedding reception will be at The Rat Pak Venue in downtown Lafayette in fall 2022. As a result, I’ll have the opportunity to get them in front of the camera again in downtown Lafayette for their wedding photos, and I just can’t wait!
Tyler and Rachel, I so loved getting to hang out with the two of you during your engagement session! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer.
I can’t wait to share your full gallery with you, but in the meantime, I hope you love these previews from your spring engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, Indiana!
