I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
In the same way they started their relationship, Logan Plantenga and Breanna Wood planned their Stables Event Center wedding in Lafayette, Indiana with the utmost intentionality.
From the perfect, thoughtful details to each and every reception event, Logan and Breanna used their wedding day to celebrate their relationship, to honor their families and loved ones, and to to celebrate the life they’ll share as husband and wife.
Saturday, June 17, 2023 could not have been any more perfect, and I’m so honored to share photos from Mr. and Mrs. Plantenga’s wedding day on the blog!
Wanting to have a traditional wedding (no first look), have a lot of fun, and have epic places to take their wedding photos, Logan and Breanna decided to celebrate their marriage with a Stables Event Center wedding in Lafayette, Indiana.
The day started with Breanna, her bridesmaids, and her something blue crew getting ready in The Stables’ beautiful bridal suite. After they were ready and Bre was able to spend a few moments with just her mama getting into her stunning dress, Breanna shared sweet first looks with her girls and then her dad just outside the venue.
After happy tears were shed, we took Logan’s getting ready photos. Then, Logan and Breanna shared a first touch around the corner on The Stables’ back porch. (With a first touch, a couple doesn’t see one another. They simply touch and are able to have a conversation.)
Next, we moved onto bridal party photos, and I have to say that this bridal party was so much fun! (Side note: They also made me feel old. Breanna and I are from the same area, and I literally used to babysit for some of this bridal party!)
In addition to having the traditional bridesmaids, groomsmen, and ushers, there are a few other very important women in Logan and Breanna’s lives, and as a result, they decided to add a “something blue crew” to their bridal party. In case you aren’t familiar with this southern tradition, a something blue crew essentially serves as female ushers. They wear blue, and on a wedding day, they help with any and everything that the couple might need.
Because all of these individuals are important to Logan and Breanna, they decided to include them all in bridal party photos, and I certainly hope this whole group—which was a big one—loves these photos.
Following bridal party photos, it was time for the most important part of the day—Logan and Breanna’s ceremony. With a friend officiating and Breanna’s high school band director speaking, this tradition was certainly beautiful and personal from beginning to end. But, I have to say that Logan and Breanna’s personal vows were particularly lovely.
For example, as they stood in front of their friends and family Breanna told Logan, “If you’d told me we would be standing here after our first date, I would’ve believed you.”
If you know Bre and Logan, you know that they entered into both their relationship and now marriage with the utmost intentionality. Since the beginning, they’ve been working together to build a life they both love, and in so many ways, their wedding day was a celebration of exactly that.
Following their ceremony, we moved on to taking family photos, full bridal party photos, and photos of this oh-so-lovely VRP bride and groom.
Then, once photos were over, it was time for Mr. and Mrs. Plantenga and their loved ones to celebrate with the best reception (more details on this below)!
Following reception traditions, we snuck Logan and Breanna outside quickly (thanks to Jackie of The Stables who graciously escorted us on the golf cart) for sunset photos. And, I have to say that looking at these photos with rolling hills and beautiful trees, you wouldn’t even know Logan and Bre got married in Indiana. Between The Stables’ excellent customer service and so many beautiful photo locations, I can now say that I highly recommend this Lafayette, Indiana wedding venue! And, also, Mr. and Mrs. Plantenga are stunning!
After sunset photos and a little more dancing, Logan and Breanna invited their guests to join them outside for a faux sparkler exit—meaning they “faked” an exit for the sake of having exit photos before photo coverage ended, but they then went back to celebrating with their guests and loved ones.
Long story short, from beginning to end, Logan and Breanna’s wedding at The Stables Event Center in Lafayette, Indiana was perfect!
Now, like I mentioned before, Logan and Breanna put a lot of thought and intentionality into planning their wedding, and on their wedding day, they wanted to celebrate both their relationship and their loved ones.
There were so many sweet touches and moments, but here are just a few things Logan and Bre did on their wedding day to love and honor others well:
Logan and Breanna are such kind, thoughtful people, and it was beautiful to witness how they used their wedding day to serve and love others. I hope and pray that they always live their lives like they planned their wedding: with loving intentionality.
Logan and Breanna, I cannot begin to tell you how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer. Bre, I obviously knew you as a kid, but it’s been so much fun to get to know you and the love of your life as an adult.
I hope the two of you love these previews from your Stables Event Center wedding in Lafayette, Indiana, but I hope you love being husband and wife even more. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Plantenga!
