As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Last winter, I met Miryam for coffee to discuss her and Jesse’s big day. I ask every bride what her biggest priorities will be on her wedding day, and I have to say that Miryam gave one of my favorite answers EVER!
She told me, “We just want to get married, for everyone to have a great time, and to eat tacos!”
This is exactly what happened on Mr. and Mrs. Wallace’s big day, and I’m so excited to share Jesse and Miryam’s elegant, backyard wedding in Demotte, Indiana on the blog!
Hilariously enough, Jesse and Miryam are both from Demotte, Indiana (a small Indiana town). They both grew up in Demotte, went to the same high school, and even shared mutual friends. But, somehow, they didn’t meet until after Jesse came home from the Marines.
When Jesse returned from the military, he sent Miryam a Facebook message asking her to go on a date with him. Miryam turned down Jesse’s initial offer. But, luckily, whether it was due to Jesse’s persistence of Miryam’s change of heart, Miryam changed her mind!
You can read more of Miryam and Jesse’s story, including about how they got lost while hiking before Jesse popped the question, here!
When Miryam and Jesse started dating, they couldn’t believe that they hadn’t met sooner. Not only were they from the same area, but they discovered that their families shared close, mutual friends—Mike and Sue McCloskey.
Growing up, Troy McCloskey (Mike and Sue’s son) had been one of Jesse’s closest friends (and even stood as one of Jesse’s groomsmen). And, over the years, Miryam’s family has become close to the McCloskeys as a result of being one of Miryam’s mom’s, Yolanda’s, clients.
When Miryam and Jesse started dating, Mike and Sue were certainly excited about the match! So, when Jesse and Miryam started planning their wedding, they decided it would be extra special if they could celebrate their marriage on the McCloskey family’s beautiful property!
Jesse and Miryam became husband and wife with a standing ceremony (guests stood instead of sat) in Mike and Sue’s backyard. Then, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace’s guests enjoyed tacos and partied the night away on the tennis court, which was decorated with beautiful twinkle lights, white and black linens, gold centerpieces, and lots of greenery. Basically, Jesse and Miryam’s DIY details were perfect in every way!
And, while the forecast looked like it was going to rain all day, the clouds cleared, and the sun came out, making September 28, 2019 the perfect day for an outdoor wedding in Demotte, Indiana!
Jesse and Miryam, I can’t begin to explain how sweet and incredible you both are or how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer.
Your big day was perfect, and I have no doubt that your marriage will be full of fun, laughter, and tacos! (In his vows, Jesse promised to take Miryam to get tacos whenever she wants them. I hope she takes full advantage of this for years to come!)
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace! I hope you love these previews from your elegant, backyard wedding in Demotte, Indiana!
Random fact: Jesse picked the rose gold rings. He likes the color “because they look like Moscow mule cups.” How much fun is that?!
Miryam gifted Jesse and his groomsmen with socks with their pets’ faces on them. Best groomsmen gift ever!!
These two are the cutest! Here, Jesse and Miryam are trying to get it together before portraits start!
Don’t you just LOVE this seating chart? Jesse and Miryam simply painted a hula hoop. It was stunning!
When Lizzo comes on, and you can’t help serenading your groom at the top of your lungs!
Couldn’t help grabbing a photo with this amazing bride and groom!
