The sweetest bride and groom? Professional dancers? A DJ PLUS two bands? The most delicious tamales I’ve ever tasted?
Jose and Carolina’s big day was every bit as much fun as this darling couple is, and I’m so excited to share their wedding at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, Indiana on the blog!
Before you check out Mr. and Mrs. Cruz’s wedding photos, I can’t help sharing a fun fact about this sweet couple.
One of Jose and Carolina’s biggest desires is to travel together. A lot of couples say this and take vacations here and there. But, Jose and Carolina have figured out a way to see the world together on the regular.
You see, Carolina is a travel nurse, and Jose can work remotely. As a result, Jose and Carolina decide what part of the country they’d like to visit and look for nursing positions Carolina can fill. Once Carolina accepts an offer, she and Jose pack theirs bags, make a new city their home for a few months, and explore everything they can when they aren’t working.
How amazing is that?! And, wouldn’t their lives make for a great TLC show?!
I just love Jose and Carolina’s desire for adventure, but what I love even more is how much Mr. and Mrs. Cruz treasure simply being together. Jose and Carolina, I pray you always prioritize quality time together like you do now!
While Jose and Carolina are pretty much always traveling these days, both sides of their family live in Frankfort, Indiana. (These two are high school sweethearts! You can read more of their story and see their engagement photos here!) As a result, this darling couple became husband and wife in their hometown.
Jose and Carolina got ready at their parents’ houses and then celebrated their wedding at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in front of their friends and family.
Side note: Their Mass was largely in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish, but Nate of New Adventure Productions (my second shooter for the day) is fluent! I was so thankful Nate was able to work with me for Jose and Carolina’s wedding, and I’m feeling extra motivated to learn Spanish now. Thank you for all of you help, Nate!
After the ceremony and taking family photos, Jose, Carolina, and their bridal party stuck around to have photos taken on St. Mary’s beautiful grounds. This was such a fun, beautiful group! I can’t wait for you to see the photos!
After wrapping up photos, Jose and Carolina made their grand entrance to their wedding reception at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, and the fun really began!
One of Jose and Carolina’s biggest wedding priorities was incorporating their Mexican heritage. They accomplished this by including several Mexican traditions during their reception. This was my first truly Mexican wedding, and it was so much fun!
While they did first dances and tossed a bouquet and garter like at many American weddings, Jose and Carolina’s reception also included a ballet folklorico (traditional Mexican dancers), a pinata for the kids, a vibora de la mar (You can see an example here, but basically, Jose and Carolina’s guests tried to knock them over while Jose and Carolina each held one end of Carolina’s veil to represent how a husband and wife need to hold onto one another tightly regardless of bumps in the road.), and a vals de padrinos (This is very similar to a dollar dance, but money is pinned to the bride and groom rather than given to a bridesmaid or groomsmen.).
After the traditions concluded, Jose and Carolina had not one but TWO bands play at their reception!
I left Mr. and Mrs. Cruz’s reception at 10:30 pm, but when I left, there was no sign of the party ending. Jose and Carolina’s reception was a wonderful celebration (and featured some truly amazing food), and I’m sure their friends and family will always remember this epic night!
Jose and Carolina, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the two of you or how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer!
You’re simply the sweetest, most fun couple, and your wedding day was epic!
I hope your wedding day was everything you dreamed it would be and that you’re having the time of your lives on your honeymoon and officially being married!
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz! I hope you love these previews from your wedding at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, Indiana!
At this time last year, Jose and Carolina thought they might have to put their beloved dog down. But, he recovered and was able to be in a few wedding photos! So special!
It was cold, but this bridal party did an amazing job and was so much fun!
Aren’t these two the sweetest?! They’re just stunning!
Despite my windblown hair, I had to have a photo taken with the lovely bride and handsome groom!
