From the sweetest bride and groom to the most fun bridal party and from their stunning color palette to countless Office references, Tyler and Baileigh’s big day was easily one of my favorite weddings to photograph of all time.
And, I’m so excited to share Mr. and Mrs. Van Wanzeele’s wedding at The Barn in Lafayette, IN on the blog!
These high school sweethearts have known each other for nearly as long as they can remember. They grew up in Otterbein, IN—a small town where everybody knows everybody—and were in the same class.
They actually “dated” for the first time in middle school. But, Baileigh broke up with Tyler when he wouldn’t hold her hand. By their junior year, Tyler was much happier to hold hands, and Tyler and Baileigh have been together ever since!
They dated through the remainder of high school and all through college. Then, Tyler popped the question on his family’s farm in March 2017, and these high school sweethearts became husband and wife on June 1, 2019 surrounded by their friends and family.
Leading up to their big day, Tyler and Baileigh had a few surprises.
First, Baileigh’s initial plan had been to start grad school after the wedding. However, when she got an offer she couldn’t refuse, she started school just a few months before her and Tyler’s big day. Because of Baileigh’s demanding grad school schedule, Tyler stepped in to help with the final wedding preparations. These two clearly make a great team!
Next, Tyler and Baileigh’s had been planning to tie the knot on Tyler’s family’s property. But, when the construction of their new barn was delayed, Tyler and Baileigh had to find a new wedding venue. Fortunately, The Barn in Lafayette, IN was exactly what Tyler and Baileigh were looking for and was available on June 1! The Barn was the perfect venue for the Van Wanzeele’s dusty blue and blush wedding!
Lastly, if you live in Indiana, you know the rain has been crazy this year. All week long, it looked like it was going to pour on Tyler and Baileigh’s big day. They moved their ceremony inside just to be safe, but with the exception of a few drops (They got their luck!), the rain held off!
Tyler and Baileigh, I pray you guys face everything you encounter in life just like you did with your wedding: with smiles, with flexibility, and as a team. If you do, your marriage will be a great example to so many!
Between being some of the kindest people you’ll ever meet to clearly being hard workers, there are countless reasons to admire Mr. and Mrs. Van Wanzeele. But, after their big day, I have to say that what I admire most about Tyler and Baileigh is how well they foster and prioritize their relationships.
For example, this was the tightest bridal party I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. In fact, many of the bridesmaids and groomsmen met in grade school and have remained close through school, college, weddings, babies (The matron of honor, Rachel, and one of the best men, Corbin, are expecting a baby in December!), and all of life’s other changes.
Because Tyler and Baileigh prioritize these relationships, they have friends who are like family. If you ask me, the world would be a much better place if we all took a note from Tyler and Baileigh and valued relationships more!
“Webster’s dictionary defines ‘wedding’ as ‘The fusing of two metals with a hot torch.’ Well, you know something? I think you guys are two medals. Gold medals.”
This is how Carlene, the maid of honor, started her speech! And, all of The Office fans in the audience—including myself—died!
If you know Zach and I at all, you know we’re huge Office fans. And, so are Tyler and Baileigh! Because of this, there were several Office references throughout the day:
Tyler and Baileigh, if you ever need third wheel to watch The Office with you, let a girl know!
Tyler and Baileigh, I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am for you or how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer.
Your wedding at The Barn in Lafayette, IN was amazing and couldn’t have been anymore true to who you are as both individuals and as a couple.
I hope your big day was everything you dreamt it would be, but more importantly, I hope you’re loving married life.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Van Wanzeele! Thank you for allowing me to be your wedding photographer. I hope you love these previews!
These were some of my favorite rings ever to photograph. The details on Baileigh’s ring are stunning!
All of the floral arrangements by Sarah Widmer were incredible!
Hooray for wedding pie! Tyler and Baileigh chose an assortment of flavors from Sweet Revolution Bake Shop, which is the best bakery in Lafayette if you ask me!
Gotta love all of The Office references!
If you’re looking for a DJ, you have to check out Rat Pak! They always do an incredible job!

In my personal opinion, Tyler and Baileigh chose a DREAM team of Lafayette, Indiana wedding vendors. It was so nice to see and work with some of my favorite local vendors!
