You’re engaged! Planning a wedding can certainly be stressful, but there are also so many fun things you get to look forward to as well! In addition to picking out the dress of all dresses for your big day, you’ll also need to decide what to wear to your bridal shower.
Many women often overlook this detail and then panic right before the shower realizing they have nothing to wear! The key to avoiding this unnecessary stress is to identify early on what “style” of bride you are and then begin hunting for something that speaks to you and fits with the style of wedding and shower you’re having. I’ve rounded up a few outfits to serve as inspiration with links to similar dresses you can shop!
1. The Classic Bride
You may be this bride if you like timeless pieces that never go out of style. You can appreciate trends, but prefer to focus on buying clothes that are versatile, simple, and easy to re-wear. This dress by Ralph Lauren is a classic silhouette that has nice lace detailing on the front of it for some subtle texture. It’s easy to pair with a simple, sparkly necklace and nude heels and is sure to photograph well.
This is actually the dress I wore for my bridal showers five years ago and I still wear it to this day! Look for silhouettes that are not too form-fitting and have a slightly thicker material so the dress will hold up through the years.

2. The Fun & Flirty Bride
This might describe you if you’re planning fun and carefree nuptials. You like to feel pretty without going over-the-top and enjoy touches of whimsy. This dress is extremely flattering for all body-types since it cinches around the waist and has a very flowy bottom. The neckline will also help elongate women of any height! This dress is easy to mix and match lots of different necklaces, bracelets, and heels with depending on how you like to accessorize.

3. The Country Chic Bride
If you are planning a more rustic, casual affair (think mason jars, burlap, maybe even cowboy boots!) then you may want to wear something similar to this for your shower! This dress has a fun windowpane pattern while still looking bridal with the white background. It’s casual but still somewhat dressy and could easily be worn with wedges, sandals, or cowboy boots.

4. The Trendy Bride
Are you in-tune with all the latest trends and like to even be ahead of the game? Then this style might just be for you! If you’re all about being fashionable and showing off your best assets, you may consider looking for a white bodycon dress (super in style right now) and dressing it up a bit. To class it up, make sure you pair it with basic heels (I like nude with this dress!). A jean jacket and choker also make for some fun, casual touches.

5. The Ethereal Bride
One of the biggest bridal and wedding trends lately has been the “boho-chic” look. Think floral crowns, flowy dresses, dewy makeup, and woodsy venues. If this is how you’re envisioning your big day, this style might be for you!
This dress is totally bridal shower appropriate, even though it isn’t the traditional all-white. The white lace and floral crown give a very angelic, bohemian bridal vibe. Wear your hair down and curly or pin it back loosely and let the dress do all the talking! If you opt to wear jewelry, make sure it is very minimal so as to let your dress and crown shine.
