Andy & Emily: Fall Engagement Photos in West Lafayette, Indiana
December 28, 2018From their oh-so-sweet smiles to their perfect outfits and incredible vintage couch, I’m so excited to share Wyatt and Kaelyn’s engagement session at Fairfield Lakes Park in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
A passion for agriculture brought these two together.
When they were freshman in high school, Wyatt Willson and Kaelyn Shircliff went to a dance together. Both shy teenagers, they didn’t talk much during the dance but continued to hang out during the following weeks.
Kaelyn went over to Wyatt’s house, and to Wyatt’s surprise, Kaelyn (who wasn’t a farm girl) was more than happy to help with chores and animals on Wyatt’s family farm. Realizing that Kaelyn wasn’t like most other girls, Wyatt realized he’d found “the one.”
Kaelyn always knew that she wanted to work with animals, but she assumed that becoming a vet was her only option. Being on Wyatt’s family’s farm, she realized that raising livestock was her true passion and calling.
This gave Wyatt and Kaelyn a passion they could share from the beginning of their relationship. Over the years, they’ve spent plenty of time on the farm working with hogs and attending livestock shows.
After college, where they plan to study agriculture, the future Mr. and Mrs. Willson plan to spend all of their days raising livestock and managing a farm together. How perfect is this?!
Fun Fact: This bride & groom will get married right after high school!
And, yes! You read that last paragraph right! Wyatt and Kaelyn are currently seniors in high school!
Zach and I got engaged when we were barely 20, so I have a very special place in my heart for couples who decide to tie the knot young like Wyatt and Kaelyn.
This darling bride and groom will graduate from high school this spring, get married in July, and start at Black Hawk College together in August. How exciting is that?!
Getting married young isn’t for everybody, but I can tell you from experience that it makes perfect sense for some. Wyatt and Kaelyn are wise beyond their years and have an amazing support system in their families. I have no doubt that their marriage will be one for the books and an example to many!
After their engagement session, I CANNOT wait for Mr. & Mrs. Willson’s July 2019 wedding!
During our phone consultation and coffee date, it took all but .5 seconds for me to fall in love with this couple, but after their engagement session at Fairfield Lakes Park in Lafayette, Indiana, I’m dying for their big day to arrive!
I love working with couples who care about details. Before their session, Kaelyn read through my engagement session style guide very carefully. She then picked out outfits and emailed me photos asking for input. She did an amazing job coordinating outfits (and with her makeup), and you can bet that I’ll be using Wyatt and Kaelyn as examples for “what to wear to your engagement session” in the future!
In addition to their perfect outfits, Wyatt and Kaelyn also brought a vintage couch! Wyatt’s mom found this couch at a flea market and knew it would be a perfect prop at some point during the wedding planning process. So, she took it home, and Wyatt and Kaelyn decided to use the couch in their engagement photos!
Wyatt and Kaelyn were so thoughtful about their engagement session details, which makes me incredibly excited to see and photograph their wedding decor at Vintage Oaks Barns next July!
Congratulations, Wyatt & Kaelyn!
Wyatt and Kaelyn, I can’t tell you how honored I feel to be your wedding photographer. Like I told you in person, my husband and I got married young, and marrying Zach is the best decision I’ve ever made. I know the two of you will feel the same way about each other.
I hope you enjoy every second of your engagement (senior year can be busy), but I also hope July 2019 comes quickly because I know your wedding and marriage will be incredible!
Are you a bride looking for a wedding photographer?
I’d love to meet you for coffee and learn more about your big day!

Wyatt and Kaelyn graduated Dec 21, so the planning has started in full force for their Wedding and days at Black Hawk. They found a cute little house to rent while attending Black Hawk and have started remodeling their forever farmhouse for when they are finished at Black Hawk. The pictures and notes are so beautiful and capture their love and bond. They are very mature and work hard. They have no misconceptions about the hard work that will come their way, I know they will work together to make this marriage a success. They have the love and support from their families and friends. GOD is the center of this relationship and will strengthen, as a three strand cord. I am so proud of my son and my future daughter-in-love.
