As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
Mike and Amanda are husband and wife, and I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to share their wedding at The Trails in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
Before you see their photos, I have to say that I don’t think I’ve ever met a couple more perfectly suited for one another than Mike and Amanda.
While their personalities and sarcastic natures mesh seamlessly, I think what really ties these two together and helps them understand one another is the fact that they’re both veterans.
Mike and Amanda both served in the Army. They didn’t meet while serving but found one another on Tinder after returning home. (You can read more of Mike and Amanda’s story here!)
However, if you’ve served in the military—or if you have a loved one who’s served—you understand that the military becomes a huge part of who you are and affects how you view the world around you for the rest of your life.
Because Mike and Amanda have both served, they understand one another in a way that most couples never get to experience. They just get one another and that’s an amazing thing!
It was an honor to be these veterans’ wedding photographer, and like I said before, I’m so excited to share Mr. and Mrs. Tomarchio’s wedding at Trinity United Methodist Church and The Trails in Lafayette, Indiana on the blog!
While Mike and Amanda live in the Indianapolis area now, Amanda is from Lafayette, Indiana. With so much of Amanda’s family in the Lafayette area, Mike and Amanda decided that that Amanda’s hometown would be the perfect place to celebrate their big day.
Wanting to start their marriage with God in focus and because Amanda was drawn to this historic church, Mike and Amanda became husband and wife at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Lafayette, Indiana.
Before getting married in front of their friends and family, Mike and Amanda got dressed at the church, shared an emotional first look (Just wait until you see Mike’s face!), and took bridal party photos in historic downtown Lafayette.
After officially becoming Mr. and Mrs. Tomarchio and taking family and sunset photos, Mike and Amanda celebrated their wedding at The Trails in Lafayette, Indiana with their friends and family.
While there was certainly delicious food, funny speeches, and lots of dancing, Mike and Amanda didn’t just want their reception to be fun. They also wanted their reception to honor the men and women who’ve lost our their lives serving our country.
At the center of their reception, Mike and Amanda set a place setting at a table for one (This is often referred to as a “missing man’s table” to honor those who couldn’t be there to celebrate with them, as well as all of the other military men and women who’ve missed weddings, holidays, babies being born, and other life events after sacrificing their lives for our country.
This was a beautiful way to honor and remember those who have made tremendous sacrifices for all of us as Americans.
Mike and Amanda, I can’t begin to tell you how honored I am that you trusted me to be your wedding photographer. You know I think you’re both a hoot and a half, and I’ve loved getting to know you both!
I hope your big day was everything you dreamed it would be and that you love these wedding photo previews, but more importantly, I hope you’re loving married life!
Congratulations and best wishes, Mr. and Mrs. Tomarchio!
Mike and his best man, Thad, met while in the Army. While getting ready, Mike informed me that while deployed, Mike was offered two goats (I might be slightly off about the livestock numbers) in exchange for Thad, because Thad had “pretty eyes.” Ha!
First looks with dad get me every time! I’m so glad Amanda and Doug got to share this special moment!
Doesn’t Mike’s face just melt your heart?!
This is Mike and Amanda’s relationship in a single photo!
Amanda and her girl’ looked like they belonged on the cover of “White Christmas”! They were STUNNING!
I just adored this sweet flower girl and was so tickled when she gave me a hug after family photos!
Mike and Amanda’s missing man’s table was a beautiful way to honor the military men and women who have sacrificed everything.
