Jordan & Caitlin: Spring Engagement Photos at Fairfield Lakes Park in Lafayette, Indiana
April 23, 2019Spring; beautiful weather; an adorable neighborhood in Carmel, Indiana; and a couple who could make a career as a standup comedy duo. It doesn’t get any better than this, and I’m so excited to share Mike and Amanda’s engagement photos in the Village of West Clay on the blog!
Teasing is Mike & Amanda’s love language.
Have you heard about The Five Love Languages book by Gary Chapman? While I highly recommend reading this book because it’s helped Zach and me immensely, I left Mike and Amanda’s engagement session feeling like a sixth love language needs to be added—teasing!
It’s all in good fun, but Mike and Amanda tease one another mercilessly. It isn’t one side; the teasing goes both ways, and each handles it like a champ and with lots of laughter.
These two are perfect for one another. And, while I’m sure they’re very funny individually, they’re hilarious together. If Mike and Amanda ever decide to do a duo standup comedy routine, I’ll definitely buy tickets!
Mike & Amanda are veterans.
Outside of sharing teasing as a love language, this couple has another special bond. While they didn’t meet while serving, both Mike and Amanda are Army veterans.
Side note: Mike and Amanda met on Tinder and will tell you that it wasn’t love at first sight. They were both apprehensive, but somewhere between swiping right and today, they became best friends and haven’t left each other’s side since.
Oh, and Amanda never technically said, “Yes,” to Mike’s proposal. Mike popped the question, and Amanda said, “No,” but put the ring on her finger and started planning their wedding. Mike says he’s pretty sure they’re engaged. LOL!
Anyway, if you’ve served in the military—or even if you have a loved one who’s served—you understand that the military becomes a huge part of who you are and how you view life and the world around you.
Because Mike and Amanda have both served, they understand one another and each other’s needs well. This is an incredible thing!
And, according to Mike and Amanda, their military backgrounds allow them to be brash with one another (hence the teasing) and ensure that they’re usually punctual.
Mike and Amanda, thank you so much for your service to our country. I pray that the rest of your lives are filled with joy and love after all you’ve sacrificed.
Congratulations, Mike & Amanda!
While Mike and Amanda call the Indianapolis area home now, they’ll become husband and wife at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lafayette, Indiana (Amanda’s hometown) this fall and then celebrate with a reception at the Trails afterward. I have no doubt that their wedding day is going to feel like a big, fun party, and I can’t wait!
Mike and Amanda, I can’t tell you how much I loved taking your engagement photos in the Village of WestClay or how honored I am that you chose me to be your wedding photographer.
Your fall wedding can’t get here fast enough, but for now, I hope you love your engagement photos!
