Shane and Kate Evans aren’t sure if they’re having a boy or a girl, but in a few short weeks, they’re going to be parents! And, I’m so excited to share this darling 2019 VRP bride and groom’s winter maternity photos at Purdue University on the blog!
Since getting married, life has been busy & exciting for Shane and Kate.
In 2019, Shane and Kate had one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. (You can see photos from their big day here!) These two, their family, and their friends are pure joy to simply be around (with a little sarcasm, especially from Kate’s sister, Jessie).
Since getting married, Kate switched from teaching kindergarten to third grade and has been coaching high school sports. (This gal is the exact kind of influence all teenagers can benefit from!)
In the meantime, Shane ran for mayor of Delphi, Indiana and was reelected for another term. (Random fact: Shane is one of the youngest mayors to ever be in office!) Then, in 2020, Shane accepted the position of chief deputy prosecutor of Carroll County—a role that he is loving and allows him to continue serving the community that he and Kate adore.
And, now, in the midst of all of this excitement and COVID, Shane and Kate are having a baby!
Like I said, Shane and Kate don’t know if they’re having a boy or a girl. But, considering how fun and loving they are, I have no doubt that Mr. and Mrs. Evans are going to be the best parents and will raise their babe to be equally kind and competitive—just like they are!
Shane & Kate are responsible for 10% of VRP weddings in 2021!
Again, Shane and Kate had one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever had the honor of photographing. And, in 2021, thanks to Shane and Kate’s referrals, I’m going to have the pleasure of having the Hickner family in front of the camera again for TWO weddings!
Kate’s brother Alex and his fianceé Casey are getting married in May, and Kate’s brother Cole and his fianceé Kylei are getting married in July. And, the four of them are trusting me to be their wedding photographer. I’m SO honored!
Now, I cannot wait for Alex and Casey and Cole and Kylei’s wedding days because I know they’ll be amazing. But, I also can’t wait for their celebrations to arrive because I’ll get to meet Shane and Kate’s bundle of joy!

Shane & Kate decided to take their maternity photos at Purdue University.
Indiana’s snow was a little delayed this year, and while Shane and Kate had been hoping for snowy maternity photos on their adorable street in Delphi (You can see their cute neighborhood in both their engagement and wedding photos!), Indiana had other plans.
Since Indiana was looking a gray and brown, Shane and Kate decided that winter maternity photos at Purdue University would be perfect for them. And, I’m so glad they did! I mean, just wait until you see their photos. Kate is glowing in her lavender dress surrounded by Purdue’s limestone! (Shane, you looked great too!)
It was a chilly session, but Shane and Kate went with the flow and powered through. It was great to see and catch up with them!

Mr. and Mrs. Evans, you’re going to be incredible parents! (Kate has been teaching grade school for years, and Shane started managing a city at 25. They literally couldn’t be more prepared!)
