I understand how much your wedding photos mean to you and how much work you’re putting into planning every last detail of your big day. As a VRP bride, you can relax and enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ve chosen a team of photographers who are just as detail-oriented as you are, will put thought into every shot, and will pay attention to all of the little details to ensure that you and your spouse love your wedding photos.
A perfect fall day? Pups included in the bridal party? And, a whole lot of Taylor Swift? Every aspect of Leah Miller and Clayton Jones’ fall wedding at 3 Fat Labs in Greencastle, Indiana was perfect, and I’m so excited to share their big day on the blog!
In addition to wanting to make sure they chose a wedding venue where their guests would be comfortable, Clayton and Leah wanted to choose a venue that (1) allowed them to showcase how beautiful southern Indiana is in the fall and (2) would allow them to have their dogs with them all day long. And, 3 Fat Labs in Greencastle, Indiana—a new barn wedding venue in Greencastle, Indiana—allowed Clayton and Leah to do all of this and more!
The morning started with Leah, her oh-so-fun bridesmaids, Leah and Clay’s mamas, and Mia and Luna (Leah’s pups) hanging out and getting ready in the perfect bridal cottage on 3 Fat Labs’ property. And, guys, just wait until you see this bridal suite. It’s absolutely epic!
Once the ladies were ready and all bridal details had been photographed, we popped outside with Leah and her girls to take robe photos. Now, I have to say one of the many benefits of 3 Fat Labs is the fact that there are multiple great photo spots within just steps of one another, which makes wedding photos very easy and stress free.
After robe photos, the bridesmaids took their clothing into the barn to get ready so that Leah could get in her wedding dress with the help of her mom, Denise. Now, Denise is a school teacher and clearly very organized and task oriented. With this in mind, I have to say that I’m so glad Leah decided to share this special moment with just her mom. While Denise had been busy all morning, in this moment, she teared up, and you could tell that the fact that her baby girl was getting married was hitting her all at once in the best way.
When Leah was ready, we grabbed a few bridal portraits and a few photos of Leah with Luna and Mia. If you know me, you know how much I love my dog—Hattie—so I just loved the fact that Leah and Clayton wanted to make their pups such a big part of their wedding day!
After Leah was ready, we popped back outside for an oh-so-sweet first look with Leah and her bridesmaids. Then, Leah was given a break and a chance to eat lunch while we took Clay’s getting ready photos.
In addition to having a gorgeous bridal cottage, 3 Fat Labs also has an incredibly comfortable man cave. So, for Clay’s getting ready photos, we simply popped down to the man cave and took his getting ready photos on the porch just outside the man cave.
After Clay was ready, Leah shared a first look with her dad and got to love on her parents for a few minutes. Then, it was time for Clay to see his bride. And, guys I’m not going to say anything about Clay and Leah’s first look. Instead, I’ll let you scroll, because you need to see how elated Clay was to see his bride!
When Leah and Clay were ready, we moved on to bride and groom portraits and a designated time to take photos of Clay, Leah, and their pups. Mia and Luna were flawlessly behaved all day long and are so photogenic. I mean, you HAVE to scroll and see!
Following pup photos, we moved on to bridal party photos. And, after this, Clay and Leah moved on to bridal party photos. Really quick, I want to give this bridal party major props for being so wonderful and going with the flow all day long. All involved were such good sports!
After photos were over, Leah’s parents walked her down the aisle, and Clay and Leah promised one another forever in front of their friends and family in front of a gorgeous fall backdrop. Between the promises made and the setting, Clay and Leah’s ceremony was truly one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.
Once Clay and Leah were officially husband and wife, we took their family photos and grabbed a few more bride and groom portraits before Clay and Leah made their entrance into their epic reception in 3 Fat Labs’ barn!
The evening was filled with thoughtful, gorgeous decor; beautiful speeches; a truly impressive first dance; a LOT of Taylor Swift music (which I loved); and just a whole lot of love and fun.
Basically, from beginning to end and with the flawless coordination by Andrea Peterson Events, Leah and Clayton’s fall wedding at 3 Fat Labs in Greencastle, Indiana was amazing.
If you were to ask Clayton and Leah’s friends and family to describe this bride and groom in a few words, I have no doubt that the adjectives “passionate” and “intentional” would make the list.
You see, neither Leah nor Clayton do anything halfway, and this can be said for their time spent as college athletes, Leah’s love for horses, Leah’s devotion to her rescue dogs, Clay’s love for cars, their countless shared hobbies, and how they care for and love both one another and the people closest to them.
As a result, none of Clayton and Leah’s guests or vendors should’ve been surprised by the countless thoughtful touches Clay and Leah made for their wedding day. I could pull from countless examples, but an element I know guests loved was how Clay and Leah decided to do their table numbers. You see, rather than giving each table typical numbers (1,2,3, etc.), Clay and Leah used numbers that are significant to them, such as Leah’s softball number, Clay’s baseball number, and the address of the dream property they just purchased.
On top of this, each table included elements (e.g. Monopoly pieces, baseballs, softballs, horses, cars, etc.) that coincided with the number, and many guests were seated at tables with numbers and elements that were specific to their relationship with Clay and Leah.
Again, Clay and Leah made countless thoughtful choices for their wedding day, and guests clearly enjoyed finding these Easter-egg-like elements.
After getting to know Clayton and Leah over the last year, I can’t help sharing that I’m just so impressed with the two of them as people. Clayton and Leah are intentional in every aspect of their lives—their relationship, their relationships with others, their careers, and their passions. I so admire this about them, and because of this incredible shared quality, their wedding day was perfect. However, even more importantly, I have no doubt that this shared quality will result in a beautiful life and marriage.
Clayton and Leah, congratulations! I know you put so much work and effort into creating decor, growing flowers, and planning your perfect wedding day. And, I hope you feel your wedding photos reflect how wonderful and joy-filled your wedding day truly was.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. It was truly a privilege and an honor.
While I cannot wait to share your full gallery with you, I hope you love these previews from your fall wedding at 3 Fat Labs in Greencastle, Indiana!
Isn’t 3 Fat Labs’ bridal cottage beautiful? It was the perfect place for Leah and Denise to share this once-in-a-lifetime moment. Clay was just so happy to see his beautiful, passionate bride and best friend! Mia and Luna were SO well behaved all day long. Dogs are family, and I just love that Clay and Leah decided to include their girls and the fact that 3 Fat Labs is dog friendly! It was 70 degrees on the day of Clayton and Leah’s wedding, and the leaves were gorgeous. Another benefit of 3 Fat Labs is that much of the venue is elevated. As a result, Clayton and Leah were able to have their wedding photos taken near the tops of trees—where trees are most colorful—as opposed to the trunks.
